When is Pheromone Party 2012? Brooklyn Event Spawns Hookups By Simply Sniffing Smelly T-Shirts

If you don’t have a current love connection for Valentine’s Day, it’s not too late to start planning: stop showering and build up a nice stock of pheromones in a smelly T-shirt… and let the games begin. It works, apparently. Rusty Blazenhoff just uncovered photos of the Pheromone Party, a Brooklyn event that spawned all manner of love connections via smelly T-shirts.

People who attended the Brooklyn Pheromone Party–part fun, part science fair experiment–swapped smelly t-shirts in an attempt to make a love connection based on the chemical attraction–that is, by huffing other people’s pheromones. Every attendee had to bring a shirt they had wore to bed for the past three days, no perfume or deodorant allowed.

The event in Brooklyn in 2010 had impressive results; a little more than 25% of attendees “hooked up,” and of those, about half ended up in longer term romances. ”I was told my events are ‘what parties should be,’” writes Judith Prays, the Georgia-based artist who had the idea in the first place.

So when is Brooklyn Pheromone Party 2012? Unfortunately, Judith Prays now lives in Atlanta, where she directs videosraps, and owns a round bed. And sadly, the official website of The Pheromone Party has been taken over by a spammer (lemonade diet, ecommerce hosting much?). What brave and smelly organizer can take on this great event and make it a reality again?
