Taleek Brooks: New Yorkers are Furious as New Details Emerge in Child Porn Case at Weeksville School

New Yorkers are absolutely furious as more details emerge in the case of Taleek Brooks (who also went by Tyleek Brooks), the teacher’s aide at P.S. 243 in Bedford Stuyvesant (or Crown Heights); Brooks has been accused of making pornographic child videos on the grounds of the school, according to CBS New York.

The full complaint against defendant Taleek Brooks (pdf) has been posted online by CBS New York, which said a judge has revoked Brooks’ bail on Tuesday after evidence was found in his home. Taleek Brooks was already up on charges of child pornography distribution, authorities said; and now, FBI agents are saying he also produced it, allegedly sexually abusing children on film inside of a classroom setting that some fear is the Weeksville.

“I am so glad they showed his face,” NYCnowCT said on NY Daily News. “We need to get all these monsters out of the schools and churches and keep them out. One way is to talk, tell and listen, and another way is to ALWAYS show their mug shots. Let the world see who these monsters are.”

“How is a teacher aide able to be alone with children in a classroom?” HEATHERG208 asked. “That fault lies on the administration and teacher.” But bmf1122 was not so quick to blame school leadership: “With these types a crimes, nothing will show up until they are caught … I hate to say it, but any man that’s “great with children” would get the microscope, it’s unfortunate that there may be good guys out there, but I’m still waiting for someone to drop the bomb on Mr. Rodgers.”

What is fortunate in this case is that law enforcement can identify the victims, and apparently, also the perpetrator via video. In many pedophilia cases, neither victim nor perpetrator can be identified.

But the mood of most New Yorkers today is fury: “Another candidate for starring on Shark Week, as bait,” IMPEACHEM says in one typical reaction. “Drop him into a pool of piranhas.”
