  • Restaurant obsession
I saw another post about this topic but it's old so I reposted. My son is over the line, I think, I'm trying to decide, when it comes to food, eating and restaurants. Restaurants have to be selected carefully each time and we have even driven around for 2-3 hours to hopefully find ...

  • high altitude pasta and fritters?
I´ve now had both pasta and fritters disintegrate on me due to altitude problems. I´m almost at 10k feet so I should have expected this. but while most high altitude guides provide info on baking modifications, their warnings re: pasta, fritters, etc. tends to have more to do with boiling points and heating ...

There are a lot of small ethnic restaurants in Brooklyn, some are better than others, but occasionally one stands out. Tanoreen is a Middle Eastern Jewel in Bay Ridge. A storefront, with rather indistinguishable decor you could easily miss Tanoreen.

When I walk into a restaurant for the first time and I see warming tray, my first reaction is to walk out. Foods left sitting in warming trays loose all texture and remind me a very bad junior high school cafeteria.

  • Jerky
I recently became addicted to beef jerky.

Bam's Beef Jerky is the best I have tried lately. He makes it and sells it himself from behind the bar at Toby's Public House in Greenwood Heights for $5 a bag. I would encourage anyone to go down there and get some of Bam's fine jerky.
