  • Cats are a sophisticated and intelligent species.
I always believed cats were smarter than the average dog and this is why I love them so much. I know I risk alienating the dog lovers of this forum but how can you watch this video and deny how intellectually astute cats are?

  • Training question
So my Brunito is "reasonably" well-trained- he knows a few commands mostly by hand signal (sit, down, shake, otherhand and "dance") and generally if food comes out he sits immediately. This is usually good since the sitting position is the start to many other commands except...

I've been trying target training because I ...

  • Veterinarian recommendations in Bed-Stuy?
Hello everyone! I'm a newcomer to Brooklyn (going on 3 months now) and the time has come to get my dog his annual visit done. I've googled "bed-stuy veterinarians" to the point of exhaustion but the reviews on each of the few places around me seem to be either non-existent or not helpful ...

  • Cat dandruff? How do I get rid of it?
My cat has dandruff, it is super gross, I hate it, and it aggravates my allergies. Anyone know how to get rid of the problem?
Also, do you use this comb? Is it worth the price? He's a short hair black cat.

  • Holistic Vet?
Our older boxer boy has been diagnosed with lymphoma (apparently common to the breed). Devastated but did some research and appears that holistic seems to be the best route to go (willing to hear pros and cons). Chemo was an option and although the length of his life may be extended - not sure ...

  • LOST DOG: small, black, curly hair, Flatbush Ave/Prospect Heights
This small, black, curly-haired dog was moving quickly north on Flatbush at 2pm today, was grazed by a car at the intersection of Flatbush and Park, and apparently continued down Carlton and vanished.

  • stray cat feeders - need your advice
So I have been feeding my current stray colony for about 7 months. They mainly hang out in an abandoned lot.

When I went to feed tonight I saw that the city had put rat poison in the lot. I fed the cats near the fence, not going into the lot.

  • Loving home for Pomeranian
Does anyone know of a Pomeranian that needs a good home?

My cats are going crazy with the furniture these days. The horizontal and angled cardboard scratchers aren't cutting it. I am thinking of buying a cheap-ish sisal rug and mounting it on the floor, 8" x 30" high so they can scratch something furniture-like without destroying the furniture....

I need to get my dog neutered. His normal vet is out in the country, but I think I'd rather do it at the PPAC, as it's so much closer if anything goes wrong, stitches get messed up, etc. I take my cat there and like them, but wanted to see if anyone had ...
