  • Hello All, Been trying to get on but keep getting messages about Viruses. Had McAfee check my computer twice, no viruses present. I think it is a hoax and it only comes up when I tried to get on this blog!

    Patsy, I am healing pretty well. There are still sensitive spots and we have to change the bandages every day. The stitches come out on Wednesday.

    Rain every day but only for about an hour. I could do without the thunder & Lightning. #-o

  • GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS :)

    HI WARREN..YES, WE HAD SOME HARD RAIN LAST NIGHT &

    LIGHTNING & THUNDER..ONLY LASTED A LITTLE WHILE AS FAR

    AS I KNOW. GLAD YOU ARE HEALING WELL.

    EVERYONE.. HAVE A GREAT DAY & STAY COOL!!! :flower:

  • Hi-bad storms here this morning-60 MPH winds..tomorrow 97..watched Justin Sat.nite..Warren-you & I would make a perfect pair..Sunday while leaving my daughter's house, I tripped & fell flat on my face on the blacktop driveway..(I had too many things in my hand (including the dog)..broke my glasses, scratched them, have a deep cut under my eye-it looks like I went 10 rounds with Mohammed Ali..now all the black & blues are coming out all over me..oh well, could have been worse-I could have broke my arm or leg-on that note.....goodnight....

  • GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS :)

    ANNA.. I'M GLAD YOU'RE OK..& YES, IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE.

    TAKE IT EASY..

    EVERYONE.. HAVE A GREAT DAY!!! :flower:

  • Good Morning,

    Anna, sorry to hear about your fall. I guess I did not leave the picture of me with my stitches on the blog long enough for many people to see it. . I was black, blue & red. Almost patriotic. This morning I had an 8:15am appointment to have the stitches out. All done. I still look like hell but not like Frankenstein too much as I did before. I have to go back in three months for a post surgical appointment. I took my picture with the stitches off because it was gruesome and nobody came on the blog while it was posted.I thought I scared every one off! :-XX

  • GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS :)

    WEATHER MAY BE BAD LATER ON!!

    HAVE A GREAT DAY!!, :flower:

  • Good Morning everyone-quick typeby-well,I feel better, although it looks like I have yellow jaundice now..so the black & blues are changing colors on my face..thanks Patsy & Warren for the well wishes...looks like I'll survive..had bad storms during the night-Cody was so scared I found him under my bed this morning..LOL..well, have to get back to work..have a great day everybody..bye

  • GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS :)

    STORM LAST NIGHT, WASN'T TOO BAD.. (THANK GOD).

    HOPE EVERYONE IS OK..

    ENJOY YOUR DAY, PEOPLE.. :flower:

  • Good Morning,

    My facial scars etc: are looking a little better each day since they took the stitches out. Th two spots that did not have stitches are improving also. Now shaving around all of them will be a challenge. Patsy, you are a very loyal Mets fan. The way they are playing recently they are lucky to have any fans. I can remember as a young boy (yes I was young once) when the BROOKLYN Dodgers were in 7th place I still rooted like crazy for them.That is when there were 8 teams in the National League with NO divisions,no wild cards, no playoffs just the two Pennant winners played in the World Series. The only time there were playoffs was when the two top teams in the league had tying records at the end of the season. :D-Y

  • Hi Warren, patsy, Anna and Terry -

    Been very busy at work and with my new Granson..love him so much.

    Hope everyone is doing ok...

    GLAD YOUR LOOKING & FEELING BETTER EACH DAY.

    GOING TO CONEY ISLAND TONITE WITH ANOTHER COUPLE & TONIANN .. I TOLD HER TO INVITE A FRIEND.

    WILL EAT AT NATHAN'S, WALK THE BOARDWALK, ENJOY THE FIREWORKS & I WANT TO GO ON THE WONDER WHEEL. MY ALL TIME FAVORITE RIDE..

    NEXT WEEK A BROOKLYN'S CYCLONE'S GAME..

    EVERYONE. ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND.. :flower:

  • Hi-so glad the week is over..but I have to go to work tomorrow for about 5 hours..thanks, Judy..I'm finally starting to recover..love the pics of your grandson..there's nothing like it...Justin told me the other night,"Grandma, I love u..you're the best, and you're cute too!!! Your heart just melts...LOL..Patsy, have a Nathan's hotdog for me..sounds like a fun night...everyone have a great weekend..talk to u soon..bye

  • Happy Sunday All,

    Boy it is quiet on here. Does that mean people have lost interest or are they just having a fun filled summer weekend?

    Patsy, you reminded me of days gone by. Besides all our regular trips to Coney Island in the summer, some of us hankered for Nathans Burgers, Dogs & Fries in the winter. I remember one night in particular when a bunch of us piled into a friends coup that had a rumble seat. Remember them??? I think there were 4 people sqeezed into the rumble seat and 4 more in the two door (no back seat) front seat. It was about 25 degrees out. We went down to Nathans and got our stuff. The ones in the rumble seat were frozen but were still happy to get to Nathan's.

    Anna, grandchildren can be such a joy. Of course there can be problems too. I remember one day when I was baby sitting my Granddaughter. She had a bad habit of peeing when she fell asleep. On this particular day she fell asleep on my lap. Need I explain what happened. I still love her though. She is 21 now and I do not think she still pees when falling asleep! :scratch:

  • Had a great weekend with my daughter, sisters and my new grandson......

    Hope everyone had a good weekend..

    Goodnight

BP spiked on me. Way up. Also had some chest pain & Flutter in my chest. Tests all came out good and they got my BP down from 223/98 to 132/67. The Doctor doubled my B/P medicine so we will see how that works out. 1st of the Month. Got to go banking. :-00

  • Hello World, Today I took Carol to the Brandon Mall (about 1/2 hour from here) and she got what she wanted for her birthday next week. A red pendant necklace to match Ear Rings I bought her. We got them both at Swarovski.

    If we were taking attendance on the blog, we would have an awful lot of truants.

    Now we have a storm named Ernesto to watch out for. Early predictions are that it will by-pass us and hit Mexico. We shall see what we shall see!

    My face is still healing well and I went to the Cardiologist office today for a PT/INR test. Th results were good. Now if my B/P will stay under control and my PSA stays low and my Cytology test shows no Cancer cells in my Urinary system and my exams the next two or three weeks come out good, maybe I can take a deep breath and relax for ahwile. That is of course if Carol stays well.

    Judy,your Grandson is adorable. He is almost as good looking as my Grandcildren were when they were that age!!!! =DB

  • Hello Guys....Sorry I been away so long....had some more bad news here.....I don't know how many of you who might have know my cousins - Charles & Michael Mongelli - they lived on 6th Ave ,Bet 19 & 20 Streets.

    My Cousin Michael passed away on Friday....He was a FDNY who worked on the pile at ground zero....He Had Cancer ,63 yrs old.

    I've been very depressed over this whole thing.

    My cousin Charles lost his son earlier this year, then 6 weeks later, my cousin Michael lost his son.. and now Michael.

    I very so sad for my Uncle and My cousin Charles....

    My Uncle loses a son And 2 Grandsons in less than a year, and my cousin loses his brother, a son ,and a nephew....I in pieces just writing all of this.

    May they all rest in peace....

  • GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS :)

    JOEBROOXX..SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. SO MUCH TRAGEDY IN ONE FAMILY..WE ARE HERE IF YOU NEED US..YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU..

    I AM GOING TO CALL YOU TODAY..I ALSO HAVE SOME BAD NEWS.. ELAINE ZITELLI DIED ON FRIDAY.. THEY CREMATED HER RIGHT AWAY & HER ASHES WILL BE ON DISPLAY WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT JUREK ON 23RD ST WHERE BRUCIE WAS..I AM GOING WITH DONNA & KENNY. I WILL CALL YOU LATER.. XX

    EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT & SAFE DAY!!! :flower:

  • Good Morning,

    Joe,Sorry for your family losses. I know the feeling. In a matter of four years I lost two brothers and a sister and one of my nieces husband who was in his 30's. Freak accident. Fell down a flight of stairs in his own house. Life has some strange twists and turns but we must try our best to stay the course.

    My B/P acted up again yesterday. Did not go to the Hospital this time because I had no other symptoms with it. Called the Cardiologist office after hours. This way you get an actual Doctor on call to talk to you. He just moved up some of my pills and this A/M it is pretty good. B/P is a very weird thing. Sometimes their are reasons for it going up and other times...who knows why? #-o

  • Joe - I am so sorry for the loss of your cousin...I wonder if my husband knew him, he lived on 19th st and 6th ave.....what a shame...so sorry Joe..

    Been away for a couple of days, went to the Hamptons with my friends...had a great time, the only time I got to relax all year!!!

    Hope everyone is going good...can't believe we are still on page 5!!!!!

  • Hi-Joe-so sorry for your loss...Judy-sounds like you had fun..well, this is the last day in the 90's.. tomorrow 80's, then 70's..maybe the summer is finally winding down? I couldn't enjoy the pool this year it was so hot!...spent the day with Jessica yesterday..Jessica & Steve have put in an offer for the house, waiting to hear...so exciting...and Justin starts pre-K in 2 weeks..time sure goes by fast doesn't it? well, everyone enjoy your night..bye...

  • GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS :)

    JUDY HE IS SO CUTE!!! GLAD YOU HAD FUN & RELAXED A LITTLE.

    THE SUMMER SURE IS GOING BY QUICKLY!!

    EVERYONE.. ENJOY YOUR DAY!! :flower:

  • GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS :)

    I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A NICE DAY!!! :flower:

  • Hello All,

    Been watching some WW2 programs on Military History Channel. It reminded me of some of the things that happened during that time period in Brooklyn. No pictures allowed from the Brooklyn bridge because it would include the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Troop ships leaving NY Harbor and sailing out through the Narrows. (No Verazzano Bridge then)

    Food & Gas ration books, Anti Aircraft Units Stationed in Prospect Park, Thousands of B-17 planes flying over Brooklyn on the way to England, Scrap metal drives, War Bond drives, Gold Star banners hanging in windows, Air raid drills-All lights out or blacked out, Meat shortages, daily reports on the progress of the war on the radio, and it goes on & on. #-o

  • GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS :)

    GREAT STORY WARREN...SOME SCARY STUFF, TOO.

    ALWAYS NICE TO SEE Y OU ON HERE.

    SPEAKING OF WHICH.. WHERE THE HELL IS EVERYONE???

    HAVE A NICE WEEKEND.. :flower:

  • Hi Patsy,

    Remember what I said last week about TRUANTS. Boy do we have a list of no shows. Unlike school, we have no way of insisting that people come here to the blog. There are a few of us regulars left but that is about it. Perhaps when Facebook goes belly up (their stock is in the toilet) some will come back on here???? :scratch:

  • HI WARREN..

    TRUANTS IS RIGHT. LOL

    I HOPE EVERYDAY SOME MORE PEOPLE WILL COME ON.

    OH WELL..I AM NOW 'THE QUEEN' :queen: OF THE BLOG.

    MY CUZ LOST HER TITLE.. LOL

    LOVE YA, CUZ.XX

    WARREN.. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND :flower:

  • Hail to the new Queen. :queen: Planning a quiet weekend. Carol enjoyed her birthday yesterday. Took her out to dinner last night. Each of our kids contacted her with cards & calls along with a nephew and a neice to wish her a happy birthday. She also got birthday wishes from our insurance agent, Holland America lines,Seminole Casino and me! :sunny:

  • Good Morning Everyone,

    Such a pain. Hope all is well. Will have to read later.

  • Joe,

    I am so sorry for the loss of your cousin. He was friends with my husband David that passed away. They went to school together. Very Handsome man. Too young to pass..Annette told me (Padron) she also went to school with them,,,,,

    A am shame this month...Him, Bruce's wife, Dimalooch God bless him 96 years old...(Patty and Neil Morello's Dad..Dimalooch)

    So sad.....

    Well I am going to have a nice glass of wine at the party in honor of these dear people.

    Patsy it is Dominick Nicotra's party..his engagement. My cousin you worked with at the Limo place.

  • Oh and also Diane McLeod passed too. Our Helen's Aunt. boy Oh Boy I may have two drinks today

  • I just caught by the Truant Officer...lol

    Back from the engagement that started as an engagement and before the party or the cake was cut they broke up. I had a good time anyway. lol

  • Hi-beautiful day here today-in the 70's..took Cody for his haircut & bath..Warren-keep those stories coming..really interesting...nothing set in stone but my brother from NJ trying to talk me into moving to Florida...maybe next year..kinda nervous but excited..we'll see what happens..he's looking near Naples (I heard it was nice) but I also heard Clearwater Beach was nice too..any suggestions, Warren? I think it took 2 weeks to get through one page of this blog? Is everyone on vacation or did everyone desert the blog permanently? bye

  • Terry, glad to see you on here. I was beginning to think you deserted us!

    Anna, Florida is a very long fairly narrow state. The Naples area is on the West coast and it is one of the most southern parts of the west coast. A litle warmer there then the middle or northern part of the state. The most Northern is quite cool in the winter. There a tons of places all over and especially places for people over 55 years of age. If you start looking anywhere in Florida find out what the rules are. Some places can be very restrictive for pets and children. The lower East coast of Florida has a lot of people from the Northeast. Especially from NY. The area of the west coast I live in (The Tampa Bay Area) has people from all over but especially from the midwest. It takes a lot of research to decide what part of Florida to live in and it depends on personal taste. :idea:

  • I would say Naples is a more expensive and probably nicer place. Clearwater is practically all Scientology...

    Hi everyone,

    Spending a quiet day at home with my son's little Yorkie Lily.

    Everyone is working or in Atlantic city.

  • Warren,

    I did not leave. It s such a pain to get back on. they used to send me an email when people posted and I would just click on it and get on. They changed that too. Hope all is well. Never went back to read everything.

    Love to all.....Yes facebook stock is down. lol

  • Hi-thanks Warren for the advice..I've been researching this for the last week..I would like to live on the west coast of Florida-near the beach..will continue my search..my brother suggested Del Webb and has 2 agents looking around already..he's renovating his house & it may take about 6 months for that alone..he might build something down there (big enough for my kids & his kids to go down there)..we'll see how it goes..Terry-glad you're back on...enjoy your Sunday....bye

  • Good Morning,

    Sorry I have not been on, just busy working and trying to enjoy the last few weeks of the summer.

    Patsy - you are funny "Queen" you are the best, always keeping this blog going...

    Warren - Happy Birthday to Carol, glad she had a good time.

  • GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS :)

    BUSY MORNONG.. HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY!!

    :flower:

  • Hello, Don't think we are at the bottom of the page so I won't have to wait till tomorrow to see this entry. That is what happened yesterday.

    Memories Memories. I was thinking back to the days of real radio. Not only did I listen to many, many, shows & ball games butI went to see some of them in Manhatten. I saw Quick as a flash, The Shadow, Juvenile Jury, Carmen Cavellero, Kate Smith, Robert Merrill, Paul Whiteman, Crime Doctor, Land of the Lost, Name that Tune, etc:. I used to listen to Red Barber & Connie Desmond announce the BROOKLYN Dodger games. They could paint a picture of the game with their voices. In High School (Manual) I took a course entitled "Radio English". I was the sound effect man and also played the part of a CAT in a radio play we performed in the Auditorium. Then came TV and it ruined everything. I saw Arthur Godfrey in the what is now called the Ed Sullivan Theater. Between the Cameras, lights and other equipment you could not see very much! The Shadow was sponsered by Koppers Coke. Crime Doctor was sponsered by Phillip Morris and Jonnie Cookson was in his Bell Hop uniform Shouting "Call For Phillip Morris". Back then there was ONE sponsor, not 42 like there are now. Memories, Memories. :-k

  • GOOD NIGHT SWEET DREAMS

  • GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS :)

    CUZ..SO NICE TO SEE YOU BACK HERE. XX

    HI WARREN...HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH YOU & CAROL.

    EVERYONE.. ENJOY YOUR DAY!!!! :flower:

  • Good Morning All.

    Have a great day

  • Hi Cuzzie,

    Was such a pain to get back on but I finally did it...lol

  • Hello All,

    Patsy, Carol & I are doing pretty well. I got one of my test results today & it was good news. Carol awaiting her blood work results. I have an appointment with the cardiologist Thursday, Carol with her Gastro guy Friday. Next week we both see our Primary Doc but on different days. I also have an appointment with my Urologist and Carol has one with our Radiologist. We practically live in Doctors offices.

    Terry, I do not understand why you are having so much trouble getting on here. I just type in my User name & password and go right in. My biggest gripe is that when you make an entry and it is the bottom of the page, it takes a full day to show up. Do you think your problem might be because you are using an Apple computer? :scratch:

  • Good Night Sweet Dreams

  • Maybe Warren because I do have a Mac

    I want to use my own password but don't know how to di that. I have to use their password and it is always number with letters, nothing easy to remember. I f I don't come on every day I have to log in all over and apply each time for a new password. Such a pain.

  • GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS :)

  • Good Morning All

    Have a great sunday

    Late for Church

    Will read tonight

    Hope all is well.

  • Terry, say a prayer for me for I am a sinner. Not going to Church today. No good reason both feeling okay. Just lazy!

    Anna, getting back to your exploring Florida as a possible move. My father taught me many years ago that when I had an important decision to make I should take a pad and put a line down the entire middle of the page. On one side put all the plusses that I find and on the other side put the minuses. For example. Weather would be on both sides. No more snow or real cold but quite hot and humid for longer perods then up North and possibility of serious storms.

    If you consider amusements we have Disney-4 parks, Universal-2 parks, Lego Land, Busch Gardens, and sea shore on both coasts. That would all be a plus. The price for those places might be a minus if you are close on your income. I do not know about Real Estate taxes in Illinois but Real Estate taxes in Florida are much, much lower then NJ. As far as sports are concerned we have professional baseball and Football teams on both coasts.Hockey,Basketball etc:. On the minuses- insects live all year and some of them are the size of small mice. Lizards such as Anols, Geckos (both are small) and in some areas Iguanas which are not so small. I think you get the picture. You have to decide what is important to you and see if the pluses outweigh the minuses! Good luck and Take your time making your decision. 8)

  • Good Morning All,

    Today my baby boy starts New York Law. Pray he can do it. He had to quit his job to go full time. Boy Oh boy. Loans, loan, loans.

    He does not realize (I don't think) he will not have a life for at least 3 years. You can not party or do anything. STUDY, STUDY, STUDY. Just being a worried Mom...

    How is he going to pay bills?? Oh I know his loans of 47 thousand dollars a year. He could have bought a house. lol

    Oh well i am trying not to worry because it all will work out..

    Have a great day.

    THINKING AND PRAYING FOR OUR FREDDIE..RIP

  • Good Morning...quick typeby-Terry-you're not alone...no matter how big our kids (or old) mothers will always worry-that's our job...(LOL)...you always hope they remember what u taught them growing up..work hard, have fun,take responsibility and have accountability for your actions & they should be fine....well, have to get back to work..bye..have a great day everyone........

  • ](*,)Terry, it does not stop there. I have a Grandson who travels to NY from north Jersey to college. He goes to John Jay College and is majoring in Forensics. He drives to Ringwood NJ from Wanaque and takes the Bus into Manhatten. Then the subway downtown to the college. Yes I worry about him. I have another Grandson who is going to Stevens Institue in Hoboken but is on a work study program working nights for NASDAQ in Carteret. He drives all kinds of crazy hours from Dumont NJ down to Carteret every night. One of my Grandaughters goes to Stockton State in south Jersy. She lives on campus but has all kinds of Medical problems which keep her from doing many of the things her classmates do. Yes I worry about her, and all the rest of my Grandchildren, all 7 of them. My kids are all adults but yes I worry about them every day. It does not stop so you are normal and have to try and relax!

    I did not know Fred but read many of his entries on the blag. My sympathies to his family and all you friends of him on your loss.

    Anthony, sometimes when people complain about minor health problems, it is to hide the more serious problems that they are being silent about. :pale:

  • Thank you Anna and Warren.

    Fred never complained about his illness.

    He had a kidney transplant AND IT WAS SUCCESSFUL.

    He was a diabetic I think and he had one leg amputated and was doing great.

    He had Pancreatic cancer which no one knew and I guess passed from that deadly disease..

    I loved his quote under his photo on here.

    Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body. But rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, Shouting:

    ~~~~ HOLY SHIT, WHAT A RIDE ~~~~~
  • good night sweet dreams
  • Good Morning all,
    Off to zumba by the beach. Need it after all the eating..lol
    May go to see Freddie today. I hate driving into brooklyn and no one knows me in his family. I feel funny but my kids said MA..go for him...So I guess I will go even though I really don't know anyone. He is at Scarpaci's so I guess there will be someone I know but I will do it for Freddie. I am sure he is watching us from above...
    see ya later...Love to all...
    Prayers are needed for Vincy Ann(she was married to Monteforte years ago not anymore) who grew up in the slope. Her little baby grandson needs lots of prayers I believe prayer works....so if u remember say one. thans
