Help kids in high-need public schools become lifelong readers. Behind the Book
is a non-profit organization that brings accomplished authors into classrooms to guide students in creating their own writing and art projects. Our programs, which are part of the class curricula, have a
successful record of building literacy skills and motivating students to read.
No experience or training is necessary to volunteer. You'll coach and encourage students as they write, research, and create artwork. Check out our current volunteer opportunities
and contact email@example.com
to volunteer for dates at an elementary school in Fort Greene in November and December.
You can help kids as they work with author Page McBrier (Programs 46PM12 and 46PM12-2) to write about acts of kindness they would do, and learn about the rainforest and its inhabitants with author Ginjer Clarke (Program 46GC12).
