Honestly, I did not intend to scare everyone off with my Frankenstein impersonation. That is what I look like today but it will all heal eventually. A least that is what the Dr. said. If it is too disturbing I will chage it quickly.

Hello All, Been trying to get on but keep getting messages about Viruses. Had McAfee check my computer twice, no viruses present. I think it is a hoax and it only comes up when I tried to get on this blog!
Patsy, I am healing pretty well. There are still sensitive spots and we have to change the bandages every day. The stitches come out on Wednesday.
Rain every day but only for about an hour. I could do without the thunder & Lightning.

Hi-bad storms here this morning-60 MPH winds..tomorrow 97..watched Justin Sat.nite..Warren-you & I would make a perfect pair..Sunday while leaving my daughter's house, I tripped & fell flat on my face on the blacktop driveway..(I had too many things in my hand (including the dog)..broke my glasses, scratched them, have a deep cut under my eye-it looks like I went 10 rounds with Mohammed Ali..now all the black & blues are coming out all over me..oh well, could have been worse-I could have broke my arm or leg-on that note.....goodnight....

Anna, sorry to hear about your fall. I guess I did not leave the picture of me with my stitches on the blog long enough for many people to see it. . I was black, blue & red. Almost patriotic. This morning I had an 8:15am appointment to have the stitches out. All done. I still look like hell but not like Frankenstein too much as I did before. I have to go back in three months for a post surgical appointment. I took my picture with the stitches off because it was gruesome and nobody came on the blog while it was posted.I thought I scared every one off!

My facial scars etc: are looking a little better each day since they took the stitches out. Th two spots that did not have stitches are improving also. Now shaving around all of them will be a challenge. Patsy, you are a very loyal Mets fan. The way they are playing recently they are lucky to have any fans. I can remember as a young boy (yes I was young once) when the BROOKLYN Dodgers were in 7th place I still rooted like crazy for them.That is when there were 8 teams in the National League with NO divisions,no wild cards, no playoffs just the two Pennant winners played in the World Series. The only time there were playoffs was when the two top teams in the league had tying records at the end of the season.

Boy it is quiet on here. Does that mean people have lost interest or are they just having a fun filled summer weekend?
Patsy, you reminded me of days gone by. Besides all our regular trips to Coney Island in the summer, some of us hankered for Nathans Burgers, Dogs & Fries in the winter. I remember one night in particular when a bunch of us piled into a friends coup that had a rumble seat. Remember them??? I think there were 4 people sqeezed into the rumble seat and 4 more in the two door (no back seat) front seat. It was about 25 degrees out. We went down to Nathans and got our stuff. The ones in the rumble seat were frozen but were still happy to get to Nathan's.
Anna, grandchildren can be such a joy. Of course there can be problems too. I remember one day when I was baby sitting my Granddaughter. She had a bad habit of peeing when she fell asleep. On this particular day she fell asleep on my lap. Need I explain what happened. I still love her though. She is 21 now and I do not think she still pees when falling asleep! 
Had a great weekend with my daughter, sisters and my new grandson......

Good Morning..wow Judy-your new grandson is quite a cutie...love his sneakers...Warren you tell the nicest stories...you have some great memories..I remember taking the trolley down to Coney Island almost everyday with my Mom..when I would fly home to Chicago the last few years, I would get to Newark Airport and stop at Nathan's there just for their hot dog & french fries.(I also made it down to Coney Island too)...well, got my new glasses yesterday & getting back to normal..bruises going away...next Monday Jessica & I are taking off, playing hooky from work..shopping, sitting by the pool, taking advantage of the warm weather before the winter sets in...got to go back to work...have a nice day...bye

Hi-yes Patsy, a three day weekend coming up for me...I can't wait..Jessica & I are going out to breakfast first..on August 24th-Scott & Tina are going on vacation to Mexico-so I'll be watching Justin for a week..can't wait..then I go back to work the day after Labor Day..long vacation for me..but my program starts with the govt on Sept.4th so i'll be working 10 hour days, 6 or 7 days a week until after Christmas so I'm gonna enjoy the time off while I can...had storms during the night but back to the 90's again this week..enjoy your day...bye

Hello All,
Thanks for asking about my healing. My face is healing well. I suppose I will always have a scar but I can live with that. Spent Monday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon in the Hospital. BP spiked on me. Way up. Also had some chest pain & Flutter in my chest. Tests all came out good and they got my BP down from 223/98 to 132/67. The Doctor doubled my B/P medicine so we will see how that works out. 1st of the Month. Got to go banking.

Hello World, Today I took Carol to the Brandon Mall (about 1/2 hour from here) and she got what she wanted for her birthday next week. A red pendant necklace to match Ear Rings I bought her. We got them both at Swarovski.
If we were taking attendance on the blog, we would have an awful lot of truants.
Now we have a storm named Ernesto to watch out for. Early predictions are that it will by-pass us and hit Mexico. We shall see what we shall see!
My face is still healing well and I went to the Cardiologist office today for a PT/INR test. Th results were good. Now if my B/P will stay under control and my PSA stays low and my Cytology test shows no Cancer cells in my Urinary system and my exams the next two or three weeks come out good, maybe I can take a deep breath and relax for ahwile. That is of course if Carol stays well.
Judy,your Grandson is adorable. He is almost as good looking as my Grandcildren were when they were that age!!!!

Hello Guys....Sorry I been away so long....had some more bad news here.....I don't know how many of you who might have know my cousins - Charles & Michael Mongelli - they lived on 6th Ave ,Bet 19 & 20 Streets.
My Cousin Michael passed away on Friday....He was a FDNY who worked on the pile at ground zero....He Had Cancer ,63 yrs old.
I've been very depressed over this whole thing.
My cousin Charles lost his son earlier this year, then 6 weeks later, my cousin Michael lost his son.. and now Michael.
I very so sad for my Uncle and My cousin Charles....
My Uncle loses a son And 2 Grandsons in less than a year, and my cousin loses his brother, a son ,and a nephew....I in pieces just writing all of this.
May they all rest in peace....

Joe,Sorry for your family losses. I know the feeling. In a matter of four years I lost two brothers and a sister and one of my nieces husband who was in his 30's. Freak accident. Fell down a flight of stairs in his own house. Life has some strange twists and turns but we must try our best to stay the course.
My B/P acted up again yesterday. Did not go to the Hospital this time because I had no other symptoms with it. Called the Cardiologist office after hours. This way you get an actual Doctor on call to talk to you. He just moved up some of my pills and this A/M it is pretty good. B/P is a very weird thing. Sometimes their are reasons for it going up and other times...who knows why?
Joe - I am so sorry for the loss of your cousin...I wonder if my husband knew him, he lived on 19th st and 6th ave.....what a shame...so sorry Joe..
Been away for a couple of days, went to the Hamptons with my friends...had a great time, the only time I got to relax all year!!!

Been watching some WW2 programs on Military History Channel. It reminded me of some of the things that happened during that time period in Brooklyn. No pictures allowed from the Brooklyn bridge because it would include the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Troop ships leaving NY Harbor and sailing out through the Narrows. (No Verazzano Bridge then)
Food & Gas ration books, Anti Aircraft Units Stationed in Prospect Park, Thousands of B-17 planes flying over Brooklyn on the way to England, Scrap metal drives, War Bond drives, Gold Star banners hanging in windows, Air raid drills-All lights out or blacked out, Meat shortages, daily reports on the progress of the war on the radio, and it goes on & on.

Hail to the new Queen. Planning a quiet weekend. Carol enjoyed her birthday yesterday. Took her out to dinner last night. Each of our kids contacted her with cards & calls along with a nephew and a neice to wish her a happy birthday. She also got birthday wishes from our insurance agent, Holland America lines,Seminole Casino and me!
