I was in Joyce this afternoon and saw someone hanging up this sign. Thought it could use a signal boost. It looks like a lovely cat.

Wow. This really brings the tragedy back to PH in a very personal way. The more news coverage her death got, the more it felt abstract and distant from the neighborhood. I had people as far away as Florida asking me about it.

Also, I hope that cat finds a home. I posted it here to give it a little more visibility: http://www.dailyheights.com/2012/01/15/cat-of-deloris-gillespie-prospect-heights-elevator-murder-victim-needs-a-home/

I unfortunately did not get any other info other than it has been adopted. Hopefully the kitty is still stayin in PH. It sounds like the kitty went to a good home.

From Patch: Sharon Azar, who was fostering the cat, said a woman who lives in downtown Manhattan with an older cat and two young sons “fell in love” with Bubu after seeing her photo online.

The adoption was arranged over the weekend, and the family plans on changing Bubu’s name to “Sweet Girl.”

The cat is a gray Maine Coon-mix, and was described in flyers that were posted around the neighborhood as “affectionate, pretty as a flower, soft as a cloud and sweet as sugar.”
