I had my pup down at Steuben Park this morning and I saw the sign that said dogs must be leashed from 9:00AM - 9:00PM. Steuben had always seems to operate as a below the radar, unofficial off-leash park so I was quite surprised to see the sign.

When did this change take place?

I know that the Clinton Hill Dog Run people were trying to turn the park into a 24/7 off-leash park but I didn't realize that a compromise position had been reached.

Most of the big parks adopted a 9 - 9 rule a few years ago.

I suspect that the Parks Dept is just now getting around to putting up signs, and it is unrelated to any advocacy done by the Clinton Hill Dog Run people.

For better or worse, the change on Nostrand is going to make the change on Franklin look minor.
