Hey all - I am trying to rescue a stray cat that is down the street from me who clearly has a broken leg. [It seems that the local kids did something to her.
] She also has a 5 week old (ish) kitten. I am having a hard time getting them, particularly the kitten.
I will take them in, pay the vet bills, find them homes, etc - I just need help getting them. Does anyone have a havahart trap to lend or any experience with this who would be willing to help? Or contacts at any of the area TNR programs who might be able to help? Please!
It would be very much appreciated!!
Thank you! -

I'm moving this to the pets forum, where I know the slope street cats people check regularly. You can also try PMing leozoeypiper. Good luck rescuing the kitties!

Please PM me if you want help. I will be trapping in PH this weekend.

The mama cat and her kitten were trapped this evening. They have an appointment at the vet tomorrow to get everything taken care of. They are VERY cute. The cats are pretty darn lucky that genderwarrier found them. They are in a good, safe place.

Make sure to post pictures when you're ready to find a home for these cats. I'll be sure to make it a sticky! -

So I am sad to say that I had to put the mom down this morning because she was in the advanced stages of feLK and was positive for FIV. HOWEVER - the kitten is currently negative. If she makes it through the next test then I will keep her. Thanks to everyone for their support and concern. Peace, eli -

The kitten is doing quite well - pending her follow-up FIV test in two weeks. In the meantime, she is enjoying her new digs, and spends her time napping under my covers or playing with whatever she can get her paws on. Her older sister is still not thrilled but is coming around.

Gorgeous kitty! Congrats on your new addition and I'm glad you took her in (and tried to help the mother).

hi can anyone help me find a place where i can get a free or very low cost kitten my year old cat needs a friend all he does is cry... anyone have any idea where i can get one??Andrea Randolph
-
Hi Andrea - I would recommend making a separate post. There are also the usual routes of Craigslist etc. Keep in mind though the reason that adopting from shelters and rescues costs money is to support the work and it usually covers all shots, spaying/neutering, etc. Good luck!
-
hi Genderwarrior thanks for the idea i just did that.. see the only problem with that is i just dont have the money to do that and my son "cat" is driving me crazy he wants to play every second he is awake and when he is not all he does is cry.. so i am desperet lolAndrea Randolph

I can appreciate that - just remember that alot of times the rescues and shelters get discounts on the shots and vet visits, so it may be cheaper than you taking the kitten to the vet yourself - which of course it will need to go to to get it's shots and get spayed/neutered.
