Update: The WFP is now sending out a blast email about the powder scare, including links that give the reader (SURPRISE!!!) an opportunity to make a financial donation.

      And this is based on...

It not being what you want to hear? Clearly it wasn't anthrax or anything, but do you really doubt that some misguided teabagger sent them some powder and that the NYPD was called to investigate? What about that is implausible to you?

A marginalized group desperate for reality show fame soon to be setting up their card table every May !st in Union Square with their dog eared pamphlets.

It not being what you want to hear?

Listen to your own words. Or read your own words in this case.

Addendum: Say what you will about tea party people, they actually work within the system. To imply that they would do something like this is without merit let alone a plausible link. Seems to me a moderator should be held to a higher standard or can anyone throw shit through the fan.
    7. Is head-stomping working within the system?

      Well said Mod, well said.
    9. From Matt Damon:

At a time when many people feel like Democrats in New York State or nationally haven't done much, the WFP has done more for ordinary New Yorkers. That's because they focus on issues, not personalities. Living wage jobs. A fair tax system. Better and affordable mass transit. Fair treatment for the elderly. LGBT rights. Investment in education. It's a common-sense progressive party, with a strategy that lets progressive New Yorkers hold their politicians accountable. When an elected official gets into office, he or she can see how many of those votes came from people trying to send him a message that they want him/her to be a progressive- and act accordingly while in office.

On November 2, thousands of progressive New Yorkers will be voting for Andrew Cuomo, Eric Schneiderman, and the rest of the Democratic ticket on the Working Families ballot line - Row E. In Connecticut, Dan Malloy, Richard Blumenthal, and others will also appear on the Working Families line. Here's hoping you'll join us- and spread the word.

WFP wanted to frame this as a Tea Party attack, but frankly I don't see how dangerous they could have been to anyone (this cycle, anyway) on the right so they would have wanted to disrupt them.   Cuomo was in no danger at all; they certainly weren't at risk of not getting 50,000 votes and keeping ballot status (if this was going to be the motivation, someone might have gone after the Green Party, which barely made it).   If this wasn't a ridiculously obscene internal act of self-promotion (a strong accusation, I know, but nonetheless hasn't been ruled out even on The Daily Kos!), then this could have been the handiwork of a disillusioned former supporter who didn't like the selling out to Cuomo.
