Subject: Fees for Our Friends: The Scandal that Taints Andrew Cuomo
Fees for Our Friends: The Scandal that Taints Andrew Cuomo Aug 22, 2006 When Cuomo became HUD Secretary in 1997, he axed a federal program that had saved the U.S. $2.2 billion between 1994 and 1997 and reinstituted a system that lost the government money while earning billions for favored friends. He fired a former HUD official whose company designed the program. That wasn’t the only money big money lost. When Cuomo was secretary, HUD reported that $59 billion was missing! It couldn’t say where they money went, because it failed to produce audited financial statements. The Department of Housing and Urban Development is renowned for corruption. Historically, fraud has been so pervasive and blatant that the Sopranos episode on it was disturbingly realistic. http://thekomisarscoop.com/2006/08/fees-for-our-friends-the-scandal-that-taints-andrew-cuomo/Brooklynian » Forum » Brooklyn Politics »

Audit Faulted Cuomo's HUD Overhaul Andrew Cuomo points to his time as Housing and Urban Development secretary as a prime example of how he's made government more efficient and effective. But federal auditors say Mr. Cuomo oversaw a "poorly planned" overhaul of personnel that bulked up HUD's public outreach but undermined the agency's enforcement efforts. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303738504575568713427382050.html?mod=rss_Politics_And_Policy

ummmm replying to your own thread twice is getting spammy. that said, i agree. andrew cuomo is basically Satan. "$59 billion was missing." that's a lot of money. i think it's a shame that Paladino made such a tremendous gaffe when he said that shit about gays. it also makes you wonder...who was vetting his speeches? how could the campaign be so effing careless to let something so stupid happen? could the guy actually run the state? i don't know, but you would have to march me at gunpoint to ever, ever cast a vote for Andrew Cuomo. what a douche.

I have much more of an issue with his anti-union stance. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/25/nyregion/25cuomo.html?scp=1&sq=cuomo%20unions&st=cse He's not ideal, but he's the best candidate that's running. Everyone else is a joke or worse.

you're better off voting for the "jokes" or any other candidate. a vote for the lesser of two evils is still a vote for evil. cuomo is going to win anyway, your vote doesn't even count. it's like voting for obama in 2008 in ny...it doesn't even matter. still, people lined up around the block just to vote for him even though it was a foregone conclusion. look at all the change.

eggcream, just a word of advice. tea party supporters like yourself might want to stay away from the 'that candidate is a racist' topic. it might be a losing topic for Paladino & supporters like you. just trying to be helpful!Spend a buck, light a number for one the 400,000 victims in Darfur: darfurwall.org

Carl Paladino for Governor He Is More Credible on the Catastrophe in Albany October 24, 2010 Carl Paladino will be launching this week the final push of his campaign for governor, and The New York Sun is happy to extend its endorsement. We understand the Republican nominee is being set down as “Crazy” Carl by, among others, the same newspapers who, while saying they were for tax cuts and reform in Albany, endorsed Eliot Spitzer.... http://www.nysun.com/editorials/carl-paladino-for-governor/87117/

Ok, you concentrate on that. I'll worry about the highest unemployment rate and more people than ever on food stamps in New York and the country. Oct. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Federal Reserve Bank of New York President William Dudley said the U.S. economy faces a slow recovery from the worst recession since the Great Depression. “Even with our best efforts, the road to full recovery here in Upstate New York and across the nation is likely to be long and bumpy,” Dudley, 57, said today in a speech in Buffalo, New York. “Unemployment remains much higher than we would like.” -
Ah, the old subject change. You tried to inject racism into this discussion. And as I said, it ended up being a loser for you.Spend a buck, light a number for one the 400,000 victims in Darfur: darfurwall.org

While NYC's growing poverty rate and unemployment is concerning, the fact that more folks are on food stamps than ever is good news. You may not be aware that the rate of food stamp receipt has dramatically exceeded the growth of poverty. It shows that city and state's outreach is working to minimize the stigma associated with the benefit, and that parents are getting the nutritional support they need in this tough economy to raise healthy kids. The NYC DOH has done an amazing job of getting vendors to advertise that they accept the benefit, and the Fund for Public Health of NY has had success in getting vendors to stock more vegetables and healthy foods. For example, EBT is now accepted at green markets. For better or worse, the change on Nostrand is going to make the change on Franklin look minor.

Subject change? If you paid attention you would see my thread is about the corrupt lying Cuomo along with his racist union buddies. It's not a loser to me only to you and yours as we will see on election night.

Oh I'm paying close attention. You're a Paladino supporter who's actually concerned about someone else's racism. It's excellent.Spend a buck, light a number for one the 400,000 victims in Darfur: darfurwall.org

Only a liberal would think it's a good idea for more people to be on food stamps. 800 billion stimulus, and 3 trillion in debt and more people than ever thanks to the esteemed President Barack Obama on food stamps. 2.5 million jobs have been lost under this administration. How about creating more jobs by cutting taxes and reigning in spending for one and getting people off of food stamps/welfare. Maybe the mayor for life should look at Texas and see how they added over 152k jobs in the past year. -

No, like I said I'm concerned about jobs and the economy. You're the one who screams racism every day. I just added that youtube video to yet again prove you wrong. -

Are you sure about that? I don't think of a lot of the people in this article as being liberal http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/11/us/11foodstamps.html ....you do realize that if society got to choose between giving someone foodstamps and a job, we'd give them a job. Right? Do you realize that most people on foodstamps (aka SNAP) are employed? ...It looks like they are needed in that society you champion, Texas, as well... http://www.hhsc.state.tx.us/programs/foodstamps/estimator/index.html But these are the organizations that get the credit for getting New Yorkers in need Food Stamps http://www.nutritionconsortium.org/partners.htmFor better or worse, the change on Nostrand is going to make the change on Franklin look minor. -
