I have a membership to the 9th street YMCA, and am horrible at getting myself there. When I do go, I just jog for 30-45 minutes.

I am interested to know if there are any classes and or personal trainers there that people are totally into...

I do need a trainer, and some variety!

Anybody love anything at this gym? (oh and anyone been to PUNK ROPE there?)

Traci's and Lori's Pilates classes are awesome - Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:45. The newer ellipticals are thisclose to actual fun. I had a bit of training from Leon - he's very attentive.

I've done punk rope there and it's a lot of fun, but a serious workout. Would have continued with it, but got a new job so it doesn't work with my schedule anymore.

Has anyone done the dance classes? I'm curious about taking one sometime.

Grace's Vinyasa class on Wednesday evenings is fantastic.

Does anyone know if they still have their class schedule online? I can't seem to find it.

I don't think they post the schedule online--I searched during the last registration period.

But they'll give you the long list at the front desk. They were pretty helpful when I asked for recommendations for classes.

Their equipment is in great shape. A good deal financially and the location can't be beat. I like seeing all different kinds of people (not just skinny minnies).

I've been thinking over taking advantage of the summer membership program at this Y, mostly because I want to get at the pool. Any recent recommendations on good classes and the best time to splash around?

Yes, I loved the swimming classes with Nellie and Buffy almost every morning. Though the classes have mostly retired elders, the exercises are fun and you can feel a difference if you keep going. They also teach on Tuesday evenings around 7p.m.

After the morning classes, there are laps.
