Subject: Ruby's Bar amongst others to be evicted from Coney Island
Ruby's Bar is closing as a result of not having its lease renewed. It's supposed to be out in two weeks, but people are converging there on Saturday for a protest. I'm linking to the NY Times as the paper of record, but it's pretty clear from the opening where its bias lies (with the developers). Alternately, here is Dick Zigun, executive director of Coney Island USA and the unofficial "Mayor of Coney Island": “My heart goes out to people who have worked here all their lives.
