My husband and I had dinner here last week--it was 7:30 on a Tuesday and more than half the tables were occupied. The space is warm and inviting and we immediately noticed how friendly and attentive the staff is, from the hostess to the servers and runners.
We both have perfect vision, but we struggled to read our menus by the dim light (candlelight is lovely, but not the best menu-reading light). We started with a Bibb salad and spinach salad--both were wonderful, with heaps of creamy cheese (bleu on the Bibb; goat on the spinach).
Then, we shared the artichoke and pancetta pizza. It was perfectly hot and gooey, with a crisp crust and huge chunks of artichoke. Incredibly delicious, though (sadly) a bit greasier than I'd expected. I would have blotted it with my napkin, were it made of paper and not cloth. Still, the pizza was extremely good and we polished it off easily.
We finished with a mix of chocolate, hazelnut and dulce de leche gelato, which was rich, creamy and oh-so indulgent.
All in all, we had a great experience and will be back soon. We do hope they add soup now that winter's almost here. Perhaps a nice, piping hot bowl of minestrone before your pizza? YUM!
