Is there a regular schedule for CB meetings? It's kinda hard to go on a few hours notice.

Subject: Schedule of Community Board Mtgs

Believe it or not, they have posted the next 8 meeting dates at the Community Board 8 website. But as they say at the bottom, always call to confirm the exact location and time. I did that this morning before submitting the post - so, for what I know it is on for tonite. Here's my attempt at including the link for future reference:

do you rely only on brooklynian for invitations to community meetings? there are precinct councils and community boards everywhere and people who are sincerely interested in finding out about them and as experienced at navigating the internet as you seem to be, usually find them. i always appreciate the reminders on brooklynian, but i don't rely on them to prompt me to become aware of the community-related meetings in my area. maybe you could view a posting of a meeting and think, "darn, I wish I'd known earlier. Next month I'll make it my business to get that information or post a query ahead of time (because my computer doesn't go anywhere but Brooklynian) so that I can plan to attend." That would be so refreshing. Blaming the posters who bother to get the information and post it as a helpful reminder is not.

By the way, lil b, I posted about the march on Saturday a week ago. Love to see you there.

I wasn't blaming anyone Lucille. I just didn't know where to look.

Believe it or not, I'm actually quite busy. I do want to be more involved in my community, but it turned out I had to work tonight (and since I am really, really broke, work is a priority!). I *just* got home and the only reason why I'm still up instead of crashed as I should be is that I'm waiting for my stupid cat to finish eating so I can let her out of the bathroom. I can't leave her in there because she'll poop in the tub.

That's what surprises me, you not knowing where to look. You must have googled Crown Hts. Mssg. Brds. to find this forum.

Anyway, sorry to hear that your cat has that proclivity. I had one that pooped in my tub all the time, some years ago. Please get a good night's sleep and turn out for the march on Saturday.

I'll do my best to post all future meetings in a more advanced fashion, timewise. But you can do your part too, you know?

And I'm sorry, but who isn't broke and busy? We all are. That's why we care and make time for things that might improve our quality of life without raising our taxes.

Well, if I went to the meeting instead of going to work, I wouldn't get to eat this week. So no, I don't always have the option of making time.

And I don't know if I'll make it this saturday, especially since I have so little time to get chores done and my sleep pattern is now officially fucked up.

But whether or not I make it, I'll be with you in spirit.

By the looks of it, you have plenty of time. It does take quite awhile to read and post on every topic on this board, not to mention reply to your own threads several times. Why not take a rest from your computer and show some support for the community which you say "ROCKS"!!!!

      You work?????

Does your boss know how much time you spend posting every minute, every thing that you can think up? But in all seriousness, if you count all the time this week you used work-time to play on the internet -you can use that time better to actually go to this meeting.

You're making me want to poke my eyes out with a spoon. Stop that.

      thanks for the link, daver.

the march is an anti-gun violence march. several community organizations are sponsoring it, including the precinct community council and the central brooklyn anti-violence coalition.

it will begin at the corner of buffalo and pacific at noon tomorrow.

      see you there!!
