Subject: FYI - Push-in Muggings in the 'Hood
Hi All, I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that there have been a small number of seemingly related push-in muggings in the neighborhood recently (mostly late last week and into this past weekend). A girl that lives in my building (713 Classon) was forced inside and robbed at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, 1/3. Her friend/possibly roommate, who also lives in the building told me that she wasn't physically assaulted in any way after the initial push into the building. Apparently the police told them that it was the not the first incident in the past few days. I don't know if a weapon of any kind was involved. I know you all know this, but it's just a reminder to always keep your wits about you and be aware of you surroundings. Yeesh. Classon sounds grimier all the time. Sorry to hear about that going down and big up for spreading the word.

something similar happened on e.parkway and rogers just the other day in the afternoon. no physical harm from what i know, and the cops were very reactive (they seemed to know who it was but were having a hard time tracking this person down). there's been about a half dozen of these incidents in this neighborhood over the past few days. just watch your back, be aware of your surroundings and be careful.

Subject: Wave
Hello, I would just like to let people be aware it isn't just happening near classon, I was actually mugged on Vanderbilt Ave. between Park and Prospect on Wed / early Thursday morning by two men "boys" as they seemed to be in their late teens... they did not push me in or get into my building but I wonder if they had wanted to... because they never asked for my purse but tried to get me away from the door and where physically abusive when I wouldn't budge (punched me at least 10 times in the stomach / ribs)... they did manage to run with my purse but I feel only because people started to witness who were walking on Vanderbilt. I also thought my street had enough traffic to be a tad safer but you never can be too careful. The police informed me and my roommate there seems to be a wave of these all over Prospect Heights area.livin loving P Heights -
Man, that is rough. Sorry to hear it. Also, your signature is a little wickedly ironic after reading that. :/ And on a lighter note, awesome user name.
