      Hey everyone,
Was wondering if anyone can suggest a handyman or woman that can help me fix an indoor door in my basement.

I got someone from the neighborhood to install a door with frame in my basement to create an extra room. But he never finished the job (or didn't know what he was doing) so now the door doesn't even fit into the frame, is warped, and has a big gap at the top.

I think that the door just needs to be sanded down to fit into the frame. It doesn't need to be fancy. Just so it closes.

I'm attaching a few pictures, in case there are any knowhowers on here.

If anyone knows someone who might be able to fix up my door, please let me know

Sorry for the excessive postings. I was trying to figure out how to attach images to my post. Maybe the mod could delete the 2 extra posts.

I have used Clemens Sippel on several occasions. He is an excellent carpenter and a true craftsman. (clemenssippel.com)

Uh. Wow. There's not even a frame there? You need more than sanding.

The easiest way to get a door in there is with a pre-hung. The frame and the door come together. You just cut the sheet rock out to the size of the frame. Then you install the frame into the sheet rock with the door.

I dare say any able-bodied adult with a hacksaw, a hammer, and a screwdriver could have done a better job than whoever did that. Was the guy completely wasted?

Just sent an email to Matt. Clemens looked a little too fancy for my needs. Felt like I probably wouldn't even be worth his time.
