HOMAGE, Park Pl at the corner of Franklin, the old 'fish n chip spot,' and currently the spot with no sign or awning, but yes, christmas lights.

      check it out.

burgers, music, good vibes, good people, and more.

stopped in tonite to check it out:

full range of burgers from meat to turkey to veggie

salads, fries, looks a great addition to the 'hood

      we'll try it next week.

i would plan on take -out for the moment, it doesn't look like the sit down part is in full swing.

The girlfriend and I ordered burgers from there shortly before Christmas. They were hefty and tasty, and we'll definitely go back. On the other hand, I wouldn't call myself any kind of foodie, so take my experience with a grain of salt.

      try it

the beef burger was very good,

the tuna burger was fine; i would probably have it again

and i am looking forward to sampling the veggie & the portobello burgers

burgers came with a nice portion of very fresh arugula and i loved the truffle fries (but i love anything "truffle" of any variety)

they also had a very good single serving blueberry pie thing

it's a great addition to the 'hood

Sounds tasty- anyone know the normal wait time for take-away order if I stopped there on my way home?

i've walked in and called in for take out a few times. the wait has been from 7-10 minutes. they don't seem to be extremely busy yet.

turkey burgers and the herb fries are very good. looking forward to trying some of the other menu items.

there are about 6 or so tables and a long sofa. i believe i saw a few games. one television is mounted in the dining area and one in the take-out area in the back showing sports the times i've been in.

didn't see delivery mentioned on the menu.

Went there this past weekend, minimalist decor, decent burgers and fries. They didn't have diet soda -- found that odd. Now delivery is written on the take-out menu and they do it from 7-10 PM. I asked if they would go as far as Sterling at Nostrand and they said that the new delivery guy MIGHT.

Does somebody have the phone number? Or care to scan in the menu?

Thanks! I'm excited to give 'em a try.

well, i just ordered some food for pick up and we weren't too impressed. There was a lot of the usual order confusion/missing items that are typical of a new place. My veggie burger was suppose to come in a wholewheat bun, with baby greens, vine ripe tomatoes, instead it was a plain bun, no greens, no tomatoes :(. My husband's burger came w/o cheese, and they were all overcooked. When i called to complain, the guy apologized and said he was told to just put what they had. I told them that i understand the beginning if rough, but to be more straightforward with people. It sucks to expect one thing and open your container and it's not what you expected.

The herb fries where pretty yummy, just a bit cold by the time we got to them (i know, ordering fries for take out is never the greatest idea)

The place was pretty cold, when i told the guy about it he said something about the vent in the kitchen sucking up all the heat (?). He added that it should be warm in the summer (ain't that great!).

I will definitely give them a try a bit later, after they have worked out the kinks. I am all for supporting businesses in the area, so hopefully they will get it together soon.

Just bumping this thread to remind folks about Homage. The husband and I just had our first meal there and it was wonderful -- perfect for a nice Saturday night in the backyard.

      Mmmm...raspberry lemonade, burgers and fries...

i LOVE this place. I go at least once a week. It has an amazing selection of burgers and i love their fries. Also, their fried pumpkin and their fried plantains are amazing. They do deliver, but I tend to do take out (10 min. wait) or eat in. They now have their backyard open and DO have a sign as of this afternoon.

i should try this place again, i guess. i went a few months ago and had a seriously underwhelming burger. very thin and and not very tasty patty that was not cooked to order, plus the whole place was filled with smoke.

It varies a lot, true. When the owner (I think he's the owner) is working, though, they're amazing! Especially the fried pumpkin.

But I really really wish they would stay open past 9pm. I can't tell you how many nights I've gotten home right at that time and wanted dinner, but no luck. They'd make a ton of money delivering late nights to Franklin Park.

Also, anyone know if they're aiming for a liquor licence?

We were there once and it was just okay. I've had better burgers. The service was pretty mediocre and everybody who works there seemed to be more interested in talking on their cell phones than paying attention to us - and we were the only people in there. I'm not completely writing them off at this point because we need some decent places to eat in the neighborhood.

Rosweed is dead on. I was going to comment on this place before, but was too lazy. I agree with everything he said. The burgers taste like frozen patties from CosCo. Not a smart move for calling yourself a "burger joint."

Finally tried thsi place a few weeks ago and was impressed. The burger was solid, as were the fries. Nice decor, with a relaxing vibe. Fair price and, as a bonus, the woman working the counter was very easy on the eyes! I'll be back.

Ok, I am still quite heart-broken that this place burned down a while ago. BUT I saw people walking around inside on Thursday. I know it's not going to be Homage again...but anyone know what it IS going to be?

I talked to some guys who were leaving the site about two weeks ago, they said with the insurance money and some financing now inhand, they would soon bring the entire building (store fronts plus apartments) back online.

....but I didn't get ask them how soon.

Is this the row of three stores across from Pana? One of them has an awning for Media Store with an eagle? Everytime I pass those stores I always think about how theyre in such a great location, and for outdoor seating too.

I saw a couple of young women banging on the roll-up gate at the Media Store storefront yesterday, apparently trying to get it up so they could go inside, and wondered what was up. This could be an attractive location for any number of new businesses. Here's hoping!

A good question. My latest research into the topic indicates that a lot of really smart people feel the answer is a toss up between:

The signs on the window said they were hiring baristas. So I guess it's a coffee shop.

The only thing better than being able to choose the God you worship, may be choosing which coffee shop you patronize.

This neighborhood is excelling in the later.

As I always say, I would prefer that people choose between coffee shops (or any other retail establishment) than between preachers.

The latter rarely have ideas that improve the lot of the many.

I suspect it is only a matter of time before the other two storefronts in this building are occupied.

The location has become quite prime.

Hmm. Between Breuklyn, Pulp & Bean, and the numerous, numerous bodegas both high-end (Pine Tree) and low (Shorey), does the market justify another coffee shop?

Don't forget Little Zelda and the ones on Classon.

      Need?

I don't think we will "financially support" this many, much less "need" them.

Not all of them will be here a year from now.
