    1. The really neat awning went up months ago. But today I noticed the door open and peaked in, and, voila! it seems open.

      Anybody ventured in?

This is on Nostrand between Sterling and Park.

My wife walked past it on the way home last night. She said the sidewalk was packed with men standing in front of the place. The interior looked to her like a sports bar with a bunch of guys standing around looking at TV screens.

    3. But they don't serve alcohol! I wonder what the big draw was? The menu I saw looked interesting, with lots of short-order items. The addition of the Punchline Juice Bar a year ago was a big improvement to that block. The owner of Joey's appears to have spent considerable time and money doing something worthwhile. Let's see if it works.

I walk by the place every day and I've never seen it open. Anybody know what's going with that place?

Subject: Delicious and Reasonably Priced Food!!!

The food is GREAT!! I finally stopped in this afternoon. I can't believe how reasonably priced they are!

      I ordered a side of Tofu w/ spinach -$1.20

A side of grilled shrimp $1.50

      A side of chicken $1.50

And a Philly Cheese Steak that came with fries - $6.00

And the food was delicious! I don't know what I expected, but Joey's surpassed every expectation.

The price of all their burgers includes fries and I think the price starts at $4.00 for the veggie burger up to $5.50 for beef or turkey.

I haven't tried their breakfast or coffee, but what I did order was simply delicious!!!!

I haven't tried the food yet, but I did stop in and get a menu. The menu looks great, but I walk past it every morning about 7:45 and it's not open. Why have a breakfast menu? Maybe they should call it a brunch menu.

    9. I finally made it to Joey's today for lunch. What a great experience! I loved the built-in counters with glass over trays of coffee beans, from green to French roast and everything in between and the wall with the names of Brooklyn nabes painted in various size type. And each of the sandwiches named after a neighborhood. I had the Fort Greene, your basic turkey burger deluxe for about $5.50

The owner told me they had opened only three days ago. He claims to have operated several fast food franchises in Staten Island, but said this is his first solo venture in Brooklyn, where he lives.

      Like, welcome to the n'hood!!

This place has been closed since I moved here last year. I though it was out of business, then all of a sudden I passed it a few days ago and it seemed open. Anyone know the story with this place? From the reviews it seems like it was a good burger joint

I should add, since the day I saw it open, it has not been open since

The hours became very sporadic and the service became very poor, then, it closed.

For better or worse, the change on Nostrand is going to make the change on Franklin look minor.

It has been open sporadically over the last couple of weeks, similar to its original pattern.

It's open again right now, debated going in and then psyched myself out thinking "how fresh are the ingredients if they're only open once in a while." Passed it up for CT Muffin.

I did see a painter outside taking a smoke break and then head back inside so maybe they're prepping for a re-opening of some sort

Wait, this place didn't just open?! I thought about poking my head in a few times but no one else was ever in there. Also the guy working the counter was always sitting at the counter texting. Anyone actually eat here recently?
