      1. A request for a full liquor lic has been filed by 742 Franklin (located between Sterling and St Johns). Here's a photo of the store front:

      photo: bk to the fullest

The application has been filed by an entity known as Senza Fame, LLC. If granted, this would be become a bar that served hard liquor, as well as beer and wine.

Note, the entity is not required to call itself "Senza Fame" when and if it opens.

      2. Breukelen Coffee House (located at 764A Franklin Avenue, near the corner St. John’s and adjacent to Dutchboy) seeks to serve Beer and Wine. It presently just serves coffee and tea. ...maybe juices

For better or worse, the change on Nostrand is going to make the change on Franklin look minor.

w/ 95 south on the same block as BCH, I can't imagine it's gonna be easy for them...

While they are physically close, I expect BCH to be able to easily distance themselves from 95-S.

For example, I think that BCH presently closes at 7 PM. BCH could easily extend their hours to 9 PM, and remain "distinct" from the issues that are associated with 95-S between 11 PM and 1 AM.

...it is also my perception that issues have diminished due to 95-S's declining popularity, and the declining drug traffic at the NW corner of Lincoln and Franklin. This drug traffic played a role in tarnishing 95-S.

Summary: I expect BCH to get its beer and wine lic without much hassle.

For better or worse, the change on Nostrand is going to make the change on Franklin look minor.

DNA.info has just (5:23 PM today) run a story on BCH's request for a wine and beer license: http://www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20130107/crown-heights/franklin-avenues-breukelen-coffee-house-eyes-late-crowd-with-beer-wine
