It is small, with a mostly takeout and delivery focus.
It appears as if it will open soon.

Hopefully it will be good. I don't like the take out pizza places on Washington, or Franklin.
The place on Classon down by the high school is ok.
I think Roadhouse isn't bad. I like Nino's on Franklin - spicy sauce and consistent. But I am looking forward to the Barbocino for sure.
"Brooklyn-style pizza"?
"Hopefully it will be good. I don't like the take out pizza places on Washington"
agree
haven't tried Franklin though--
Looking forward to getting some good pizza.
Re:

If it opened up on Vanderbilt it would be "Montreal Style Pizza"
Roadhouse on Franklin is good, but it isn't a slice place.
Slice of Brooklyn on Franklin has stale slices.
Nino's on Franklin is ok, but I never remember it.
The aforementioned place whose name I can't remember by the high school on Classon is ok.
Ginos on Washington simply sucks.
Pizza Factory on Vanderbilt is good.
Antonio's on Flatbush is really good, but I suspect it will make me go from slightly overweight to fat.
This business model is popping up all over. S.Brooklyn Pizza is an excellent example. If Petezazz comes close it will be great. They didn't blow out the wall, so no back yard. The kitchen is the dining room, and the dining room is the kitchen. With the long skinny layout it's going to have the 99cent pizza place standing, no where to sit, the take away and delivery business for this product has to be great.
I will wait to see the crossover, in which people from Glass shop want a slice that they can smell and see, buy w only a few steps effort. The coffee shop has nice seating,I hope they hurry up, for such a small space they are taking a really long time.* note to Mr.Zazz I wouldn't blow lots of cash on interior work when there is so little of it,if your pie is great nobody cares about what cool things are hanging on the walls while they stand up to eat it.
Billy's on Bedford next to Medgar Evers is pretty good for delivery. They're consistent and definitely worth giving a try. Ask for your pizza well done because I have gotten some pies that I believe to be under cooked. I prefer some char on my crust, but many people don't.
This will be a nice addition to Classon, and only a few blocks from my place. Their site suggests it'll be more upscale, which you wouldn't necessarily expect from a walk-in, take-out place. It might be difficult to compete with the new artisan pizza joint on Franklin that's opening up relatively soon -- I believe they're going to have seating, and possibly even a back yard. Though that won't matter much if the clientele are only interested in take-out.
I really dislike Slice of Brooklyn. Bad pizza and long wait times in my experience. Everything between Washington and Franklin is average, or below average. Pita Pizza Pasha on Classon and Bergen is decent, but I ordered take-out from them once, and when I opened the bag at home a roach crawled out. Hey, it happens, but I can't stomach ordering from them since.
I must say I really wish there was some ethnic variety in these newer places that are opening, but I can't complain. We have the best Mexican in Brooklyn at Chavella's, good Indian, the city's best Caribbean, burgers, Tom's, the (in my opinion) really good new Neptune II, Thai, Compare Foods for dinners at home (I'm so in love with that place). But I'd be nice to have something like Moroccan, German, South American, Cuban, or even something like Chip Shop.
Oh Ishtar, guess you haven't looked at Billy's food inspections lately.....one word- blech.
We used to love them, but when they had a ridiculous amount of points against them, we had to stop.
We recently discovered Nice Pizza (on Franklin and Greene) via Seamless. Thin crust, interesting topping choices (the smoked salmon is yummy). It's become our go-to place for pizza.
I have seen their food inspections. I tend not to pay too much attention to those for reasons I'm sure many people will disagree with.

I pay them some mind, but not a lot: I will try a new place that has an A, but not one that has a B.
Likewise, I will only repeatedly go to places that have a B if they taste really good.
Spoke with the owners/chefs the other night. They seem really passionate and have cooking backgrounds. One is from BK the other from Texas both really nice guys. I hope they do well.

Oh yes! They are really good -- it's a one-pizza-per-person sort of place. Very good, though.
Also, no mention of Amorino? Their pizza is really good. And Franny's wasn't mentioned either if we're talking as far out as Flatbush apparently.
Those places are sit down pizza. But both are yummy
Excited about the new pizza joints. Hate the trend of bad puns for names of businesses.
I've plugged it before, but Park Slope's La Nonna Rosa will deliver at least up to Franklin Ave. They have the best damn pies I've had in Brooklyn, and my wife and I are both very discerning consumers of pizza.
please have a gluten free pizza option, nobody has it in brooklyn except in dumbo.
Amorina does take-out slices as well as individual pies; it's a pretty good deal.
For those looking to try Nice pizza, they are a Groupon Instant Deal -- has to be used before 11pm tonight. Dine-in only, but it's not a bad walk.

$10 for $20 worth of food -- which is good, because it's a one pizza per person sort of thing. Also, they do have beer and wine.
Status?
It is still "opening soon"
wish it was opening sooner!
Hey Everyone you can come eat some slices
Glad you are all excited about our pizza. We are dealing with delays like everyone else but Brooklyn is not without pizza.
Tonight Monday October 17th from 7pm-10pm our friends at No. 7s have been nice enough to loan us their restaurant so we will be running a pop-up.
Come eat our Margherita and our Cold Fried Chicken pizzas
Tonight 7-10 at No. 7s at 7 Greene at Fulton
if you have not met us yet the whole PeteZaaz family will be around.
Hope to see you there
-Mac
When you know when you will open, please post here!

Awning is in place.
Construction equipment no longer present.
Opening looks like it could happen at anytime.
they are waiting for the final on their gas meter. Everything else finished waiting for bureaucrat weenie at the utility to approve gas service
Opens Sunday.

P.S. Is it just me, or does that article and poll look a heck of a lot like this thread?
Hey Everyone
We are proud to say that we open this Sunday December 11th.
We were waiting on National Grid and finally got set up with gas on Wednesday.
We will be cooking all weekend to get everything ready and to cook for ourselves and our families but Sunday, $1 slices all day. The Website goes live on Saturday. Look for the menu. Pete Glen and the rest of the gang are very happy with what we've come up with and there will be specials to come. We hope you love it.
Thanks and hope to see you soon

Yessssssss
I just came back from there. The food is good, but they are gonna need to work out some kinks. The menu is poorly place in the way front of the restaurant, but the register is in the middle, then you have to go up front again to wait, dodging people the whole time, where you get to watch the pizza preparers yelling at each other. It's all very confusing and amusing.
But the food is good, and the people are nice, and they were blasting classic rock out of an awesome looking boombox thing, connected to Pandora.
They should work on the flow of the place, but it's just the first day. I wish them well. And their General Tso's Tofu Pizza is to die for.
Thought I'd grab a slice or two for lunch, but "Will re-open Wednesday".
This place is really good. I have had the regular pie,Ruben Stromboli,Fried chicken pizza, and the Gen Tso's tofu pizza. All of them are really delicious. The knots they make are made with ricotta w some shallots and some Asian seasoning which is
really enjoyable

Damn tasty pizza...thin, crispy crust and delicious sauce. Really cute place, too. 1/4 pies made to order if you don't have time for a whole 'za. Really great staff...I ordered then realized I'd left my wallet at home. They let me take the pie home and pay them later.
Between Pete'z and Ortine, the Washington strip suddenly has two great pizza options without slogging to Vanderbilt!
This place (and other nearby spots) are poised to absolutely thrive once the Court Officers Academy is opened right across the street.
As a huge fan of Pete's, I have to give this place another thumbs up. Food is amazing, the owners are deeply involved, and just really nice guys.

Does anyone have any idea when that is supposed to be? The construction there doesn't seem to be terribly brisk.
It was originally scheduled to be completed in April 2013.
However, based on this court officers forum, I suspect the Dormitory Authority and the contractor(s) are taking their time to complete the project as a result of not having the funds to for an incoming class.

They deliver through GrubHub now. And take credit cards. WIN!
Went today for lunch. Got a Brooklyn and baked potato slices.
The Brooklyn was nothing to write home about. Your standard margherita-type slice. I only got it for reference, and because only two pies are available by the slice each day. I wouldn't bother with this one again.
The baked potato slice is weird and delicious.
Nice place, friendly staff. Will definitely go back. Next time I will just get a whole pie. Also very curious about the kimchi roll.
How long did you have to wait for those slices? My husband went to pick up slices and was somewhat yelled at about how only gross pizza places have slices ready to go and that they make it when ordered and that it's against code to have slices out (only somewhat true) and so he left and got a torts at Chavelas for lunch.
It took a while -- ten minutes at least. As you said, they make everything to order.
Next time I will phone ahead.
i guess the guy is covering his a** on that one. I always get some heated up slice from them. They've never been out of slices. PPlus the flavors blend and taste better on a reheat slice. Its just like lasagna that tastes better the next day.
I think this place might kill finally off Gino's on Washington.
In my view, Gino's has been struggling for a while, and hasn't kept pace with the neighborhood's changing preferences and wealth. I rarely see deliveries being made on the bikes out front, or customers inside.
Do we have any readers that are fans of Gino's?
Gino's is disgusting. Every time I've made the mistake of eating there in the last 8 or so years, I have problems thereafter.
Gino's seriously tastes like cigarettes when they reheat slices. I've also ordered a full pizza from them, and while it didn't have that particular problem, it still was a head and shoulders below any other PH pizza I've tried.
