A small all black cat just followed us home, and we couldn't bear to leave her out in the cold.
She's healthy, and not vicious at all.
So what should we do now? She's upsetting our dog quite a bit, but it seems cruel to throw her back out.

Keep her; your dog will adjust.
I think you and the dog will need to come to terms with the fact that she's adopted you. Get her to the vet for spaying, vaccinations and microchipping, give her a name and enjoy your new family member. An added bonus is that she'll keep away any mice.
Cats weren't meant to live indoors.
They smell. They shed. They destroy furniture. They piss and shit in a box. It's disgusting.
"Catch and release", my friend. You already have a dog, which is a superior creature
Also, whatever you do, DON'T go to a vet in the city -- a checkup and spaying will cost you many hundreds of dollars.
If you foolishly decide to keep this foul beast, take her to an ASPCA center to get fixed, or out of town, if you can. You're talkin' beaucoup bucks, trust me.
We have two huge boxers and were adopted by a little tabby cat about 4 years ago. We had her spayed by Friends of Animals (I think it was $45) and she has been the best addition to the household EVER. After a little boundary setting, the dogs were fine. We even find the two dogs asleep on one large dog bed and the cat on the other - 170 pounds of canine crammed onto one bed and the other occupied by 6 pounds of feline (with oodles of room to spare). Keep the kitty - Onyx, Licorice, Obsidian, Coal - all names to consider!
Looks like you have a new cute friend for life. Congrats!
Yes, Friend's of the Animals. It's the best bargain in town. She's quite pretty. As for the adjustment period,
once my cat stopped running, the dog calmed down.
Now they sleep together, groom each other and play together.
A pit mix and a cat.
Good luck.
Your dog might just be defensive right now but once he or she realizes that the cat isn't a threat to its way of life, everyone should start getting alone.
Definitely take it to a vet, get it spayed, and check to see if its pregnant. Some strays who follow people home are pregnant.
Good luck! Dog & cat friends are the cutest.
I always give my pets human names. How about:
Delilah
Josie (the pussycat--HA HA HA HA HA, okay, it's probably been done)
Hildy
Solange
Bree
Eulalie
Odette
Lenore
Griselda
Mabel
Prudence
Fern
Congratulations! You have been selected. Muffins spay and neuter certificates are a cheap way to go. Check on line.

Oh okay, keep the dog, they will learn to get along. And you wont have to take it for walks! How Grand!.
Muffin's is a good choice also. I adopted my cat Budbanks
from one of her fosters. Back then I believe it was still
via Friends of the Animals but not 100% sure.
Let us know what you named your wonderful little find.
Kittens give Morbo gas.
Good news! We found a nice cat friendly home that it can go to.
I'll keep you all updated on the name.
