Well, this is my first year doing Thanksgiving on my own. It'll just be me and the husband - I'm usually fed by a Greek grandmother who thinks that 12 courses isn't nearly enough. So I'm trying to make sure we have the good usual stuff but I'd like to be able to walk on Friday.

That said, We finally decided to cook after a long debate (we were going to use Juice Hugger's Thanksgiving meal pick-up ( http://juicehugger.com/) where they had a vegetarian full Thanksgiving meal for $25) but decided to try out some of these recipes that our families have sent us but we've never used.

But I really don't want to bake.

Anyone know of a place in the local area with pumpkin pies? (Is Lily and Fig doing pies?) I can pick it up any day this week after work (although Tuesday or Thursday would be the most convenient)

      Thanks!

The bakery at Compare has its moments, and I saw them putting out a bunch of pies yesterday. If you're looking for something schmancier, well... I guess that I would call someplace like Joyce, maybe that Just Desserts place off of Washington. If they're not baking them, they might point you in the right direction.

...not that there's anything wrong with that.

little miss muffin, on park near flatbush, has a sign outside saying you can order pies for t-day.

The Lower East Side Girls Club is selling pies to raise money:

I always opt for the Little Pie Company, although its not local (Hell's Kitchen). I think you can still order from them by phone even though the retail shops are closed.

In case this helps anyone: Blackbirds on 3rd ave is sold out of preorder pies, but will be selling a limited amount on thanksgiving day (don't count on any being left if you don't get there when they open -they are uber popular right now)

answered my own question -- stopped in at Bob and Betty's and got a yummy looking pie.

      Thanks everyone for the help!

Also, they had a free cheese-and-Rick's-Picks pairing, so I got my appetizer on before heading home for dinner. Nice.
