Anybody else noticing this crazy Rube Goldberg device labeled "Skywatch" sitting on Nostrand Avenue near Prospect Place. Looks like a portable lookout tower, complete with tinted glass, three cameras, flashing lights and even a wind speed device. Whoa! Looks like somebody was having a hard time getting rid of their anti-terrorism money. Wonder it can detect low-flying planes too?

    4. Is this what it looks like?

Here's an article about it the one they have in Harlem; it mentions that they have another one in Crown Heights. And here's another story from the Post.

It actually has 5 cameras that run to a DVD-R. They can also be outfitted with radiation detectors, infared, high powered floodlights, etc...Just about anything can be installed on one of those Skywatch towers. The wind gauge is so that the operator knows if it is safe to have the tower fully erect.
And that's the way it is.

I thought that was what the gaydar was for.
