Petit Bassam (sp?) opened last week. It's on Lewis Avenue, next door to Bread Stuy. My husband and I went for brunch on Sunday and the food was pretty good. Great service and interesting decor also. I highly recommend it. Maybe we can get more restaurants in this area.

Hadn't heard of it but will check it out. Always on the lookout for new eats. Is it strictly French cuisine or fusion?

I would definitely consider it more fusion and less French. The menu ranges from fried chicken and roasted salmon to flank steak and various omelettes. Check it out!

There are several other new spots on the Clinton Hill/Bed-Stuy border. On Bedford there's a new pizza place and a French-African place. On Franklin there's a bakery! Crumb Shop, I think it's called. The pizza place looks cool and the French-African place looks very nice. All are aroung Lexington and Greene Avenues.

Ate at Petit Bassam earlier this week as well. Was pretty good. For now, they are testing certain things on the menu. Everything appears made to order. Also, Soloman's Porch on Halsey and Stuyvesant has the most amazing food I've had in quite some time. The lamb stew was insanely good and the jazz (every night) is top notch.
