Via CCGH list serv. Seems like a good idea.

Since there have been many articles written on Mr. Mann's Greenwood Park, followed by lots of comments/questions on these newsgroups, I thought it best to reach out to CB7, since I do not believe Mr. Mann has formally met with any of the immediate community.

The CB would like to handle and questions/concerns the community may (or not) have w/ Mr. Mann and his ownership team, much in the same fashion they shared with The Grand Prospect Hall on their proposed expansion...which lead to a public meeting with GPH, CB7 and CM Lander.

So, please take a few moments to ask and questions and/or express your concerns about Greenwood Park to these newsgroups AND CB7. Please make sure to CC communityboard7@yahoo.com in your responses so they can tally everything up.

Let's continue the good dialog about questions/concerns about the project, noise, live music, quality of life issues, traffic, proximity to a PS, proximity to Green-Wood, etc. and whether Greenwood Park will be a good neighbor and positive edition to the neighborhood.

That way CB7 can poll all the responses and draft a letter to Mr. Mann BEFORE the establishment is open.

Thanks and I look fwd to responses, as I know the CB does as well.

Where can I find the email addresses to contact the newsgroups you mention? I live nearby, and I would like to register my enthusiastic support of this project.

The site is bordered by a highway off ramp to the north, a highway on ramp and cemetery to the south, and industrial / factory space to the east. There are a few houses across the street, which share the block with the automotive glass place. There are no residential units directly above the proposed bar. It is on an avenue, and is already a busy truck route. My point? This spot is far more commercial than residential, and is already relatively loud. Why should it be subject to any more scrutiny than any other new bar ?

Currently, 7th avenue has a high number of empty storefronts, particularly south of 15th street. A business like this will provide jobs and contribute to the local tax base. Mr Mann and his ownership team have a successful track record, and I applaud their efforts in reviving and investing in our local economy.

I will get off my soapbox now.

I'm all for it. Would it be better to continue as an abandoned lot? I think not.

Parents: Please. Please control your children, so that I will not have to. Tonight I had several children racing around me. That is completely developmentally appropriate behavior. However it is behavior that belongs on a playground or in the gigantic, beautiful, nearby public park. It certainly does NOT belong at a beer garden. Parents: You are grown-ups. So act like it! Tell your children NO when necessary. I promise they will not hate you for it. They will appreciate it later. Have some boundaries. It takes a village, of course, but I spent my entire time at Greenwood Park parenting your children since you refused to do so. That is not okay.

We stopped by Saturday night and apparently this place has a no baseball hats policy. Naturally, we left.

I think this is absurd for an outdoor bar, but that also just tells me everything I need to know about the crowd there. I went once when they first opened, and I doubt I will go back now.

Are there people in the community who are unhappy about the noise and doing anything about it? I'd be interested to get involved!

I live nearby and I really dislike having to listen to their music all the time, although the bar/people seem fine.
