      Wrap a Dumpling Workshop

      Location: Freddy's Bar
      627 Fifth Avenue
      Brooklyn, NY 11215
      http://www.freddysbar.com
      Date/Time: Sunday August 26 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM

Make, eat, and share your dumplings using pre-made wrappers (square and round). It's a great way to entertain friends and family. In this workshop we'll hand-wrap four types of dumplings ranging from basic to intermediate techniques.

You'll use two vegan fillings: black bean & red miso and edamame & spinach. Your dumplings will be steamed or pan-fried, your choice. This workshop is FREE but please RSVP for head count.

      RSVP at: cook@kimcheelicious.com
      Subject: Kimcheelicious Dumplings @ Perk

These workshops and tastings promote my Kimcheelicious fundraiser on Kickstarter. Kimcheelicious is an eCookbook that puts a Korean pickle on the American table. Fundraising ends on August 28.

Amaze your friends with your dumpling magic. There's room for 20 people. Reservations end when workshop is filled or on August 25.

These classic dumpling shapes have non-traditional fillings: black bean & red miso and edamame & spinach. I think it's only right to give them new names (clockwise): Rosebud, Portuguese Man-o-War, Bilbo's Baggin', and Sister Batril. Some of these lend themselves better to pan-frying and others to steaming or poaching in broth. We'll be exploring all of these at Freddy's Bar in South Slope.

There's room for 20 people in this free dumpling workshop. We'll explore four basic folds, steaming, and pan frying. One lucky dumpling maker will win a jar of Korean radish and red beet kimchi. It's non-spicy, savory and tart with a rich earthy flavor. Dress up your burgers and dogs!
