Yep, that's the topic on our lovely block across the street from Green-Wood Cemetery on 23rd St. I'll give y'all an in... You can: 1. use our block as a public restroom 2. use our block for illicit drug deals 3. use our block for a quickie 4. use our block for a full out back-seat-boggie session 5. get so high or drunk you can barely walk/drive up the block 6. dump any unwanted refuse: tires, construction debris, dead chickens (yes, dead chickens) And let me tell you, I and my fellow neighbors LOVE to see folks do any and all of the above. We truly find it a show of your true respect for us and the hallowed ground across the street as you piss on it's fence. Please take time to stop by and do your thing. It'll just give me more to bitch about and make up new polls
Bitter? Yes. Fed-up? Yes. Will I take your photo doing any or all the above...YOU BETCHA! Say cheese!A word or two from the highest point in Brooklyn--Greenwood Hts.

You forgot about the live chickens.
Browse the Prospect Heights forums, it will make you feel better about our nabe. It's like the 70's over there and not in a good way.

I noticed that there is a house on 23rd street that has been on the market for quite a while. Could these conditions be contributing to the lack of interest in this house?
-
Lol, that's my house and conditions aren't particularly bad here. That's only live chicken I've seen on the block.
-
Live chickens aren't likely to put people off--drug deals, blow jobs, and public urination would though.
-
I've never witnessed a drug deal, and have only caught people parking for a quickie a couple of times in the five years I've lived here. I think most of that happens further up the block next to the construction site. Once those condos are finished, I doubt people will find it as inviting.
-
In all seriousness, I was on a rant. The situations on the block are more of an annoyance than a problem. 72nd Pct helped over the summer and I and the neighbors have shamed most folks to not come back
It's a beautiful block, which is why so many folks wanna come over and hang out. Just no more pee-pee, please, grab a bottle or a bathroom.
So stop on by, just "go" before you arrive

No, below that. However, I tend to stay away from that block due to lack of light.

Missing a few street lights, yes, but better for sleeping at night without all the blinds drawn. Since it's a narrow street, another lite or two would make us look like Vegas. Spoke w/ the Cpt. of the 72nd over the summer. They are "watching..." Wanted us to form a block association. While there's already a community group, a 23rd St block assoc. from 4th to 7th would be great...after ALL the new neighbors move in after the condo deluge is complete!

Oh I know exactly where that is. I am wondering did cameras ever work for you? They never worked for me. I ended up having to move, as people were so brazen, they knew the cops would just tell them to move along or give them a ticket and be done with it. Maybe tickets aren't such a serious deterrent anymore. I wish you the best if you own a home there.

Has it always been like that or has it gotten worse since the beer garden opened up?
Does anyone know if there is a community group addressing the noise from Greenwood Park? I'd love to know.

Despite the passage of time, I am confident that fellatio continues to be a sought after activity.
Some things do not go out of style.
For better or worse, the change on Nostrand is going to make the change on Franklin look minor.
