You may not be aware that the Brooklyn Lyceum (located in Park Slope) is hosting the Second Annual Brooklyn Mutt Show on the weekend of 3/26 and 3/27.

You may also not be aware that the best dog in the universe, (my dog Dude) won second place last year in the category of "Most Indistinct - aka Muttly":

This year, your Furry Friend can go up against the likes of Dude and vie for medals and prizes in the following categories:

Saturday 3/26

FLOOR OPENS 11am

12pm BEST EARS

1pm Dog and Human Zumba

2pm AGILITY with DOGGIE ACADEMY

3pm BEST KISSER (aka DOGGIE MAKEOUT PARTY)

4pm LEAST USEFUL PET TRICK

5pm Best BEARD in BROOKLYN

6pm CUTEST PUPPY under 7 mos

I'm there. Can't wait to see the doggie Zumba class and the winner of the Snooki lookalike. Poor dog.

I'm curious, what is Dude's useless pet trick? Predicting the outcome of sporting events that have already taken place? Opening a flue? Responds to Dutch?

Im quite curious about the Zumba class too.

Also does biting strangers' ankles count as a useless trick? If so then my dog is a shoe-in.

I am keeping his trick a secret, so I do not lose our advantage to the competition.

We will leave the Zumba competition to others.

Are the winners announced after each competition, or do they do it all at the end? I gotta check this out. Best ears competition in an hour.

The winners are announced after each competition. Here's Dude right after he was awarded THIRD PLACE in the "Best Ears" event.

As his dad, I am so proud of him.

Yes, those are Mrs. Whynot's legs in the photo. Fabulous, aren't they?

We left the event around 1 PM, but we will return around 4 for the Least Useful Pet Trick competition, and to sign autographs.

P.S. The event is free to watch, and isn't too late to come.

Despite intense competition in the category of "Least Useful Trick", Dude again earned another Bronze Medal!

If you look closely, you can now see TWO medals!

I was there and saw Dude perform. He's even cuter in person. But I thought Mr. Miyagi got snubbed. Walter shouldn't have been no. 2, or even in the top three.

... they're not yelling "boo!" They're yelling "Dude!"

We are just psyched we got medals in each of the categories we entered, and did it without bribing any of the judges ...or the super caffeinated MC.
