Please see the CB7 announcement below this note.
The public comment section of our monthly full Board meetings is very important. It is the time when the Board as a whole can hear from the community and interact directly with them at one place and time. It is also time when the public can witness the business of your Community Board first had, and in most cases, learn from the process by their attendance.
There has been debate at the Board as to when is the most appropriate time in the meetings, which generally run two hours, for public comment.
This Ad Hoc committee meeting, which I am chairing, is the time for the community, as well as Board members, to work together on a proper solution and bring it before the full Board for a vote at our January 2012 meeting (TBD).
I hope those of you who value this outlet at Board meetings, though you can always attend any Board committee meeting (and we encourage folks to do so), and wish to have it placed at the appropriate time(s) for the public, Board and elected officials as a whole.
The meeting will be on Thursday, January 12, 6:30pm at the Board office, 4201 4th Ave (corner of 43rd St.).
Have a wonderful New Year's weekend and see you soon.
