      Free Adult Improv Open House

      Come create, learn and be merry with the Irondale Ensemble! These Irondale led free-for-alls are just thing for the improv wallflowers out there. A no-risk, all-fun environment for everyone from the curious novice to the veteran performer. Oh, and did we mention these are free events?

      Red Ball (Improv 1)

      In this introductory class, students are introduced to the elements of ensemble improvisation. They will learn how listening, trust, idea generation and storytelling become the frame work of an ensemble. Through games and exercises, students will form their own ensemble with their classmates. Each session is 3 hours of lesson a week for 6 weeks followed by an All Level Showcase Party on April 1.
      Pre-requisites: None.

      Mindtwist (Improv 2)

      In this scene driven class, students will explore the elements of character, space and object work, atmosphere, and sound in order to express themselves as an ensemble. Students learn their ensemble's "rules" and perform story-led scenes. Each session is 3 hours of lesson a week for 7 weeks followed by an All Level Showcase Party on April 1.
      Pre-requisites: Red Ball or approval of instructor.

      I Like the Flowers (Improv 3)

      In this explorative class, the ensemble magic is really flowing! Students will learn multiple styles for devising original pieces and do "work ups" of material that that ensemble chooses. Students are inspired to identify their ensemble’s unique styles of creation and thematic interests. Each session is 3 hours of lesson a week for 7 weeks followed by an All Level Showcase Party on April 1.
      Pre-requisites: Improv 2 or approval of instructor.
