About this event:
45 years ago, a group of poets got together and published Hanging Loose magazine — mimeographed loose pages in a cover envelope. The idea was: Poetry is for now. If you like it, stick a poem on a wall. If you don’t, then use it as a napkin. As of 2011, Hanging Loose has published almost 180 collections of poetry.
Bob Hershon, born and raised in Brooklyn, is the author of 11 books of poetry, including his latest, The German Lunatic. He is co-editor of Hanging Loose Press.
Joanna Fuhrman is the author of 4 books of poetry, including her latest, Pageant. Her poems have appeared widely in national literary magazines and journals. She teaches creative writing at Rutgers University.
Mac Barrett has written poems, fiction, reviews and essays; his work has appeared in Hanging Loose, The Brooklyn Rail, and Salon. He is a producer at CUNY TV..
