Hey! I need roommates!
TWO unfurnished bedrooms are available for rent in my awesome 3 bedroom apartment, located in Bed-Stuy, starting the first weekend in July. It has a big 25'x 14' living room, big separate kitchen, a nice bathroom, and natural light everywhere--there is at least one window in every room.
One bedroom is 12'x11.5' with a large closet and one window. The other is 14' x10' with a large closet and two windows. Both can fit a full sized bed, a desk, a dresser, a couple of bookcases and still have room to walk around. The rooms are $750 a month each, for one person, $850 for a couple. This price includes heat, hot water, and wireless internet access. The additional utilities--gas (cooking) and electric will be split between us. One month's rent and one month's security is needed to move in.
There is access to the roof, the backyard, laundry in the basement, AND if you are a visual artist, there is a real, fully functioning gallery space available right on the premises where you could hold a show or participate in one of the group shows. The owner/landlord lives in the building and is very conscientious, attentive, kind and fair. He just asks that you be the same in return.
Located in Bedford-Stuyvesant, the building is two short blocks to the Halsey St. J train stop on Broadway (about a two minute "OMG-I'm-late" jog, or a more leisurely 5 minute "I-got-nothing-better-to-do" stroll). The building is also 2 blocks away from the B26 and close to restaurants, shops, laundromats and grocery stores. Saratoga Park is right around the corner.
I am looking for 2 (or 3) friendly, mature people who are working full-time or working and going to school. You can be male/female/gay/straight/bi/black/white/purple with yellow spots--it doesn't matter, as long as you are respectful, tolerant, and willing to talk through problems.
I am a calm, very friendly, pretty quiet, 38yr-old female designer who works mainly from home, so I am usually around. I keep the common areas (kitchen, living room, bathroom) very clean and it is really important that you do too. Your own room can look like a bomb blew up in it though. Mine usually does.
I like to have friends/family over sometimes, but not a whole lot. If you have an overnight or weekend guest sometimes, it's fine.
No smoking of anything or recreational drugs of ANY kind are permissible in the building, so that goes for the apartment as well. Sorry, no cats, birds, rodents, exotic insects or reptiles as pets--it's an allergy issue--But a quiet, friendly, well-behaved dog or fish would be cool.
Please send me an email (drawingdami@yahoo.com) with a bit about yourself and how to contact you, so you can come take a look.
Thanks!
