Subject: Anyone know what's going on with Dr. Raffinan?
I know he has a lot of fans on this board, so I thought someone might know - I called today to make an appointment and the receptionist said he was leaving as of the end of March. Anyone know if he's just moving somewhere else in the city or if he's really leaving?Brooklynian » Forum » Park Slope »

Probably just starting somewhere else (locally). I've talked to him about it for a few months now and know how to get in touch with him if he moves
-
I really hope he stays in the city - I don't know what I'd do without him.
-
He has been looking at places in Brooklyn for a while now. Last I talked with him (around Christmas), he wasn't planning on leaving the local area

The good doctor is starting his own practice in Park slope, I believe 8th & Lincoln in April. He'll post about it soon, his website isn't up yet. Good for him
Having said that, I suggest NONE of you go to him.
He has enough groupies

-
Good lord, that man's busy. Well, good for him. I had a minor panic at the thought of his moving to kansas or somewhere equally far.
-
no, no, no, no.....not going anywhere. Brooklyn won't let him go
If y'all lose track of the good doc, PM me and I'll tell you where to find him -

Subject: Anyone know what's going on with Dr. Raff?
Hello, Hi, it's me, Dr. Raffinan (or Dr. Raff as I am sometimes called). I had heard about people finding me on "a Park Slope message board" I thought I would look around. You guys are great and funny. I thank you for all your comments. I hope I can live up to them. I am moving locations from the Walk-In at 200 Clinton to my new office near Grand Army Plaza, 33 8th Ave, between Lincoln Pl. and Berkely. I should be up and running in the new office in early April. Will try to be even more accessible in new office (I had some restraints in the old office), easier same day appointments, less wait, as well as other improvments. Also plan to use technology to make the office more efficient, offering online scheduling, secure access to results online, and more. For more info check my website, http://www.raff.yourmd.com (basic website, requires typing in the www.). Will post more on website as information becomes available. Thanks for all the support. Sincerely, Michael Raffinan, MDhttp://www.raff.yourmd.com

Hey, doc -- Just wanted to wish you well in your new location. Flexichick sent me your way when I was having a scary medical problem that needed immediate attention, and I decided I just couldn't face going to my mean, nasty old PCP any more. You were so kind, and you took care of my problem (which turned out to be minor) so reassuringly. Later, I sent a friend in a similar situation your way, and she came back raving about how helpful you were, and what a relief it was to be treated like a human instead of a piece of meat to be processed. Here's hoping you always stay as accessible and sympathetic, even in your fancy new digs!
i blame such comments on boredom and drinkng, this is why we need more green spaces

Does anyone know the phone number of his new office? His website is currently down and I foolishly tossed the paper with his new contact information on it because of the website.
-
I do - it's (212) 537 - 5039 That number should be good for both the new offices
-
I saw him on Wednesday and spoke to him again later in the week. If you go right to VM leave a message. His phone didn't seem to be frowarding properly on Thursday
-
Brooklyn office is closing down. Broadway office remaining open.
-
Brooklyn is already closed.
PIA to have to go to Manhattan to see him, especially when feeling sick, but I guess it's the price I must pay to have a wonderful primary care doc.Proud to be a naturalized citizen of the greatest city on earth.
