Hi, guys. Hoping you peeps can help me out with something.
I will need to provide transportation for my out of town guests from their hotel to my wedding(!) at the boathouse this summer. Im getting really, really , really stressed out about people getting lost trying to find the venue, and I want to just pay somebody to pick them up at point A and drop them off at point B. I'm equally stressed that whoever I hire to do this won't show up or something.
Do you guys think I can trust any of the local car services (I was thinking eastern) to do this ? I checked out real wedding limos and "party buses" but they cost an arm and a leg and seem a bit shady. Any advice ?

off topic response: Congrats on getting married d_luxx!

For better or worse, the change on Nostrand is going to make the change on Franklin look minor.

I didn't get married in the city, so my response is not totally helpful.

      But

What about in your info section if the invite where you share hotel info you also include the numbers for car services in the area? Guests can then decide on their own to book it or not. We had a shuttle bus for ours which was awesome but there were no cars in the area. A lot of people still wanted to drive on their own - so just giving them the info (and giving it to them again both in the hotel welcome packages and leaving info at the reception venue allows people to make their own responsible choice.

      Thanks!

Guests are flying in and will not have their own cars. I would like to take care of this for them, and prearrange transportation in order to make it go more smoothly. I highly doubt a car service could accommodate a last minute request for 25 cars at the same time, sounds a bit chaotic, dont you think ? I am looking for suggestions for a shuttle bus vendor that I can trust, or alternatively ideas regarding whether a few car service minivans could accomplish the same thing for less money.
One of the things that's funny about the boathouse, is that it is in the park and doesn't have a real street address. When you try to google map it, you sometimes get the address of the catering company who handles events there instead of the venue itself. So it is causing me some worry !

How many people are you talking about moving? There is a big difference between moving 10 people and moving 50 people.

I lucked out for my wedding as one of my best friends owns a livery service that specializes in funerals. Her cars weren't scheduled for a run on the day of our wedding so we had a couple of black strech limos pick up people at one hotel and transport them to and from our venue. It sounds like that's kind of what you're looking for.

We used Eastern for our wedding at the Picnic Houseband they were great! They picked me and my group from our apartment near Grand Army Plaza and about 25 guests from the Holiday Inn on Union. The sent nice new clean cars. We made arrangements with them a few weeks before the wedding and dropped off the access passes to the park a few days before the wedding.

They ran out of cars when everyone was leaving after the wedding. Some of our drunk guests commandeered cars meant for family for rides to the city. My husband called another car service for back up cars. It was crazy, but they were helpful and patient. The wedding was over at 11pm which is a busy time for cars.
