Walked by today and noticed that horrible Indian place on 6th ave and 14th is now this sandwich, burger, salad joint. Decent lunch deal for a sandie, fries and a drink for $8, cuter than the diner, but.... Yelp reads that the flagship location has sucked the last year and a half.

      Anyone try this place yet?

Pretty sure they were a similar version of this before the Indian moved in. I never went (and I lived a block away at the time) but every "review" I read of it said it sucked then, so I don't have high hopes for it now.

Walked by Cobble Grill II yesterday and boy did it look bleak. Looked like they took down part of a wall, exposing some of the kitchen that did NOT need to be exposed. The lights were off even though the place was open. Just depressing. Balaka (the Indian joint) deserved to die, but this is hardly what should replace it.

Strange things happen there. The indian place said closed due to a fire?? then this opens up?
i have not seen a single person in the restaurant yet and walk by almost every day.
      doomed corner.

Used to be a bodega before Balaka, I thought. Park Slope Food Corp. or something to that effect.

This is what was there before Balaka, Slope's Bistro - http://brooklynian.com/forum/park-slope/slopes-bistro-open?postid=632299

http://newyork.metromix.com/restaurants/italian/slopes-bistro-restaurant-closed-park-slope/1389456/content Points out how the owner of Slope's Bistro is the owner of Cobble Grill.

So - he's back to try again.

Slope's Bistro and Balaka were the same people, as is this new venture. I have only eaten there once, back when it was Slope's Bistro, and the food was horrible. I can't imagine how someone could manage to keep the place going for so long, complete with apparently annual rebrandings. This isn't a case of a doomed corner, but of a corner doomed to a serial culinary offender.

The sad thing is that it's a great space and a decent location with room for outdoor seating. A nice little brunch place that does quality casual food would be so welcome. Instead we get drek diner food and drekkier Indian food.

Just drove by on my way home and saw a few people sitting outside enjoying their meal, who knows.

My family just ate there tonight. There were five of us, plus my toddler. We were about to eat at Pizza Plus but I live on 14th and 6th so my in-laws from out of town suggested we eat at Cobble Grill since they wanted burgers. I was a little nervous since I haven't seen a soul in there. But we were all PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!! The decor is totally depressing--but aside from that the food and service were good. The burgers were very tasty and we had a salad with pecans, goat cheese, apples and pears and that was delicious too. Everything was fresh (I didn't think it would be). My son could scream his head off because it was only us in the place. We all really liked the food, it's definitely worth a try. Seriously great if you have loud kids and you want to go out but don't want to bother other patrons. I can't imagine this place is going to last longer than the previous two places but I am happy to support this place as long as it's open. Good food at reasonable prices.

And they're closed. Happened by today as a guy was shuttering the place. Said they already sold it and mumbled something about "Italian".
