My husband was cycling in Prospect Park yesterday, 12/1, at approx. 4:30pm when an agressive grey van hit/swerved/ran off the road/ran into him. His injuries are quite serious. I understand that 5 police vehicles, fire dept and EMA arrived on the scene. I am trying to gather information from witnesses to the incident. There have been a lot more non Parks Dept or Police vehicles roaming the park roads during the day lately (not during actual car traffic hours) and many of them drive rather poorly. I suspect it is the various work crews on the construction projects, mainly in the rink area. At that time, it's a good possibility that the van was from one of those crews as it seems like many of them are getting off work then and are parked inside the park.
I hate to hear these stories. I hope he recovers fully and quickly!
