Can anyone suggest a good dermatologist in parks slope? Thanks
-
I see the one on lincoln and 8th ave - the male is abrupt and I don't care for him, but the female is really sweet so I book appointments with her

I was looking a while ago and found that there were not so many. But try Dr. Mark Tesser; I think the address is 24 PPW but you can Google him. I like him good enough but am frustrated by the limited hours, including for the people who answer his phone.

Dr. David Frankel (Methodist Hospital in the B andN building. i don't have number handy but he is one of the best!

The reason Dr. Tesser's hours are limited is that he works most of the week at his other office on Park Avenue in Manhattan. He once correctly diagnosed a rare and very, very scary illness in one of my kids, and at the same time helped me maintain perspective and composure. He is an excellent and caring physician.

There are many Dermatologists who make their living off of Botix. Dr. Tesser and Dr. Frankel are not among that group. God bless anyone who wants to dermaticogically ( I know I just made up a word ) correct who they really are but there are so few and far between docs in this specialty who are the real thing. these two are great recommendations.

I see David Frankel - great guy. Just in case if he doesn't work out (insurance, etc) here are more: http://www.mdinfocentral.com/mdinfo/Redirector?LAST_NAME=&FIRST_NAME=&SPECIALTY=17&GENDER=NONE®ION=131&LANGUAGE=-1&ACTIVE_ONLY=&SORT_BY=7&SORT_ORDER_ASC=false&PAGE_NUMBER=1&ActionID=DoctorSearch&target_doctorSearchResults=&x=28&y=15

Sugarpet... Good link. Dr frankel does take vacations and may not be available when you call. Perhaps, he will not accept your insurance . But, truly believe Dr Tesser and Dr Frankel are still the best on the list. yeah I know some people think dermatologists are somehow..frivilous. Think again... your skin is the largest organ of your body and it does reveal a lot about your health. v

It's not Park Slope, but I've been going to Heights Dermatology in Brooklyn Heights for years. I've seen both Dr. Rella Hartman and Dr. David Avram and like them both. Their number is 718-852-4646.

Another shout out for Dr. Frankel. The only one I trust.
-
One more for Dr. Frankel
-
We did not like Dr. Frankel at all. Scared us to death with a misdiagnosis. Dr. Tesser is much better.
-
I vote for Dr. Frankel as wellPeanuts
-
I vote for Dr Frankel...again,,
-
I'm also casting a vote for Dr. Tesser. He biopsied and removed some pre-cancerous cells that I had. He's a good guy.

wow, I cannot believe the testimonials for Dr. Tesser. I had one of the worst doctor's visits of my life when I saw him a few months ago. I had a minor issue, but not only did he not take me seriously for one minute, he kept me waiting for a long time while having a loud personal conversation with a patient in the next room (I could hear through the cheap wall) and then wasted my time when he finally sauntered in. He looked at my back, said well we can't do anything, let's keep an eye on it, and then proceeded to ask where I live, whether I rent or own, etc. When we discovered we know someone in common, he tore him to shreds for me while I waited silently for his monologue to be over. He gave me totally inappropriate, unwelcome, unsolicited information about this other person's marriage. I didn't get the impression that he was a rock star of a doctor (I didn't get a chance to enjoy his diagnostic wisdom since he dismissed my problem so quickly) but I would never go back to him because he was so weirdly unprofessional and smarmy. Good luck.
