Harlem Favorite, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que Sets Sights on Brooklyn

      Scheduled for March 2013

February 22, 2012 (New York, NY) – Brooklyn residents and event goers will be able to get their Dino Que on come March 2013 with their new Brooklyn location, located at 604 Union Street between 3rd and 4th Avenue, bordering both Park Slope and Gowanus and 10 blocks from the Barclays Center (scheduled to open September 2012).

John Stage, founder, executive pit boss and Harlem resident will be leading the change. Stage says, “I’m thrilled to be coming to Brooklyn and to be part of an exciting, evolving neighborhood. The building, an old tool and die shop, has the perfect combo of great bones and grit. I can’t wait to start the build out.”

Dino’s menu will feature all their true blue BBQ favorites, including their signature ribs, brisket, pork shoulder and wings, along with a custom Que menu designed for the new Brooklyn location. Fresh cut fries, mac and cheese, BBQ fried rice and BBQ beans are just four of the 15 homemade sides that will rotate with the season. Classic homemade desserts like key lime pie, sweet potato pecan, chocolate ice box and peanut butter pie finish things off.

The bar will feature between 18 and 24 rotating local Brooklyn, regional and seasonal craft beers, as well as a specialty cocktail and wine list.

Dinosaur will also offer take-out, delivery and on and off-site catering. There will also be a private dining space that can accommodate up to fifty. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner. For more information including hours and directions, visit http://www.dinobbq.com.

      About Dinosaur Bar-B-Que:

In 1988, after years of cooking on the road for motorcycle shows, fairs, and festivals up and down the East Coast, Pit Master John Stage founded Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Syracuse, New York. The restaurant quickly gained a reputation far and wide for serving some of the best BBQ in the country with a vibrant and lively setting and expanded just as fast, with new locations in upstate NY, and in Harlem in 2004. 2013 will mark Dino’s first Brooklyn outpost in Park Slope. Stage has built Dinosaur Bar-B-Que into a nationally known brand, exemplified when “Good Morning America” voted Dino the Best Barbecue in America in 2009. The restaurant also includes a catering division complete with mobile barbeque rigs and turns out a line of award-winning sauces and rubs (“Sensuous Slathering Sauce” was voted Best Barbecue Sauce by Men’s Health in 2010). Beyond the restaurant kitchen, “Dinosaur Bar-B-Que: An American Roadhouse,” was voted best cookbook by the National Barbecue Association.

I am SO EXCITED about this. I love BBQ and park slope has only had mediocre BBQ options come and go. Maybe this place will stick.

It will be "interesting" how they convert the current space. As long as it doesn't stick out like sore thumb or a Applebee's

Why am I the first who thinks this would be the perfect place to to see Barney Rubble and Fred Flintstone having a brontosaurus rib?

Did you people not have proper childhoods?

I love Dino & can't wait for it to open in BK. I've been to the one in Harlem twice, but my love affair with Dino started in Rochester, where there was another location. In Rochester & Syracuse, they're sort of biker bars, where in Harlem, it felt more like a family restaurant. Curious to see what mood/feel this location will have.
