Does anyone know if there are any local places to see fireworks on the fourth ? I don't have roof access so I doubt I'll be able to see the Macy's display.
For some reason I thought there were fireworks in the park, but I can't find any info on that.

Come to Sunset Park. Entrance on 5th Ave and 41 St. The whole neighborhood comes here and it is very safe. It's one of the highest points in Brooklyn.

Try the Citibank building in queens. Staff and their families are allowed on the roof for the festivities. They also put out a mean food table. Last year I noticed that they did not check any I.D and that basically if you walk in they just usher you to the main elevator that goes to the top. If you want an amazing view and some great food then try the CitiBank building in queens on the 4th of July.

Thanks Rosita. Do they actually set off fireworks in Sunset Park, or is it a good place to view the Manhattan Fireworks ?

It's a good view of Manhattan. When you enter the park just keep walking as high as you can. You will see lots of people and families and it is very safe.

Ugggg....this year the location of the fireworks by the Hudson did not make them that visible from the park. I just gave up and came home by 9:40PM. Sorry if I ruined anyone's evening!!

We were coming home from Brighton Beach and saw some glimpses as we drove on the Belt. That was not the high point of the evening... The meal at Tatina on the Board Walk was.

It would be pretty damn sweet if they did.
They should do it like they do on the Mall in DC
