If you have locked yourself out of your apartment and you are in a great hurry, you should call [urlI.have.the.same.IP.as.the.original.poster.com[/url] for quick local locksmith service and a great job. They get you into your apartment quickly and safely I've used their service twice before. Wow! Very creative shilling! Or not, since s/he got busted. For anyone else, don't ever use one of those locksmiths from the stickers, or even from the phone book. Try to get a reference from someone or at least find somebody with a lot of good reviews on Yelp.
Yes, I'm speaking from sad experience.

i hate those stickers and cards, they always find their way onto my buildings.

Agree with Landlord, the people at Fifth Avenue Key (on 9th St just off Fith Av) do a very good job.

They have been there for years and are reliable. They have a physical presence, if your key does not work, you can go back and have it redone.

Think about calling someone just from an internet ad or a card in your door and allowing them access to your home or for them to install a lock and keeping a key for themselves. Please let common sense rule over price.

This is one case where using a local merchart is definitly
      recommended.
