Looking to sit indoors since looks like rain around 2 when US plays England. Good tvs and food a bonus.

      Thoughts?[/b]

Seconded. This month is the entire reason the Black Horse exists. And you can have a back bacon sammy while you watch.

Might also want to try Woodwork in PH.

Soccer is what they're all about.

Woodwork is reservation only and it's sold out for US/England, it looks like.

Barbes says they are showing the 2:30pm games, so I might hit that up. They were pretty great for watching the Euro 2008 games.

I can't tell if Black Horse is going to have a pro-England crowd or not? I think their set up is not really that great for being a soccer bar - 3 tvs all on the same wall of a really long space.

Thanks for the ideas. We're looking for a spot that will be more pro-American. We're near 7th Ave and 5th st. Would like to be in a 20 min walk zone.

200 Fifth might get loud and crowded, but they will definitely be pro-USA. Decent bar food too.

Black Horse is pretty terrible for watching games - if you're not sitting at the bar you will likely have a light fixture obscuring the TV. Plus the food and the food service sucks.

Korzo had two-for-one pints yesterday during the games - a much better spot.

Just the one TV - but definitely a pleasant place to watch games.

      Subject: I'm definitely biased but...

We will be showing all of the World Cup games on a large, hi-def, projection screen at Sharlene's. We don't have a kitchen but we have snacks and allow you to bring in food. So far we have plenty of room.

I'd second Sharlene's, grab a cubano at El Grand Castillo before you head over.

This is the first year I've been really into the games, so much fun!

Black Horse would make a pleasant spot for US/UK neutral games as well I suppose

I tried going to Toby's Public house - got there at 1:45 and it was PACKED. Ended up at Korzo, which was perfect because I got a seat (really could not stand for 2 hours) and had some food. Only 1 TV but not overly crowded and friendly bartenders

Went to black horse yesterday. The place was packed! There were people waiting outside to get in (about 15). Kept on hearing the crowed yelling "ENGLAND...ENGLAND...ENGLAND" followed by "USA....USA...USA"

I had a baby on tow so that place was out of the question. Ended up going to a bar on 3ed avenue and 13st (dont remember the name...but it was a german place)

Dram Shop was terrific for future reference, if and when the US makes the second stage (their next two games are 10am on weekdays).

I walked by Steinhoff yesterday - they were projecting the game and people looked really into it.

Why would you want to watch it indoors? At least outdoors you can watch the grass grow which is just about as interesting as Soccer!!!! :-'

I never noticed a tv in Steinhof. Did they add one? It's possible it was always there and I just didn't notice......
