just got back from the concert. I really hoped that it would be the end all be all of hip hop.

nope. it was just Jay-z on stage, solo, for the whole show.

I somehow thought it would be the who's who of hip hop. a true brooklyn hip hop show.]

Mister C was the most entertaining part of the show during the crowd warm up.

of note: Flatbush and atlantic traffic was flowing better than i have ever seen it. mabye we need traffic cops posted there all thime.

I love how Barclays and Jay-Z are posturing that this is "Jay Z's house", when he owns 1/15th of 1% of the team.

That's some damn good marketing spin there.

For better or worse, the change on Nostrand is going to make the change on Franklin look minor.

"posturing" - I read prostituting... Insane marketing spin is an understatement.

true, many prostitutes do love the attention and the feeling of power.

...some don't even know that feeling is illusionary.

This site states that to be a prinicpal owner of the team, one had to invest $200 million.

wiki » After numerous delays to the project, Russian businessman Mikhail Prokhorov agreed to a $200 million deal on September 23, 2009 to become a principal owner of the Nets and a key investor in the team's proposed home in Brooklyn, bringing in much needed funding and finally allowing for the new arena to be built. After the dismissal of major pending lawsuits, groundbreaking for Barclays Center occurred on March 11, 2010.

If he invested almost half his net worth of $475M, Jay Z could have theoretically been a principal owner of the Nets.

But, with a net worth of approx $13.2B, the purchase was clearly less of a stretch for Mr. Prokhorov.

      ....clearly.
