As the weather begins to heat up, the Brooklyn Bike Patrol wants to remind the women of Brooklyn that we are still here to keep you safe as you travel to and from your destination. What started out as one man's mission to offer security to the women of Brooklyn last year after a string of sexual assaults has now grown to a crew of volunteers serving women at more than 35 train stations throughout the borough. we provide a free walking escort to accompany women between their subway stop and their destination 7 days a week after 8PM. Simply give us a call in advance to arrange an escort and we will meet you as requested. All of our volunteers have registered with the 72nd Precinct. Anyone who wants to call the precinct can ask for community affair Sgt. Frank Siclart. The Brooklyn Bike Patrol wears clothing identifying themselves and carry picture ID as well. Even with the praise we've received from various newspapers, magazines, radio stations, and online support, our main focus is always on providing a free service to protect the women of Brooklyn. Call us at 718-744-7592. You can also see the picture of our volunteers on our facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/BrooklynBikePatrol. Thank you very much and lets keep Brooklyn safe.
