Any recommendations for the best (cheapest) happy hour for beeer in Park Slope. Free appetizers are welcome but not required.

The Tea Lounge has a 5 to 7 pm, 7 day a week half price beer happy hour. That means $2.50 draft microbrews and imports. I can't beat that price anywhere. It's not a real bar and snacks are infrequent (but good when the bowls of kibble are put out), but I find myself drinking beer there quite a lot. Also cheap ($4) glasses of wine. No discount on cocktails or bottled beer.

Also, the happy hour at Long Tan on 5th is, last time I was there, $3 drafts (microbrews and imports) and $5 really good Pad Thai. They post the (really long) happy hours on a board outside. I don't know about wine, cocktails, or shots there, I'm a beer man.

More happy hours, folks? I'd like to hear some too.

Thanks for the info about the Tea Lounge. Sounds good for microbrews. Are there many babies and strollers around at that time. I like a quiet environ.

FYI-HiDive on 5th Avenue offers $2 Miller High Life pints on weekdays til 8 pm with free, freshly made popcorn and a nice outside space and Loki Lounge, I think, offers $3 draft pints (12 to choose from) and $2 dollar Bud/Miller bottles weekdays til 7 pm, with no free food, but they are comfortable sofas in the back of the bar.

Babies and strollers at the Tea Lounge? Are you kidding me? It's baby and stroller central

I put up with it for the beer.

Subject: Happy Hours in Park Slope

Dram shop on 9th street has half price draft beers during happy hour until 7 pm. I tasted this white ale, Witte, for 2.50 a pint. Dram good. I've seen toddlers there too, but they are quiet during my drinking. FYI-Time Out New York has a happy hour issue this week but mostly about Williamsburg and Manhattan bars.

What do you all think about babies in bars? What about dogs in bars?

Unruly children are ruining our pubs, claims Good Pub Guide

      By Daily Mail Reporter

Poorly-behaved children are ruining trips to the pub for a record number of customers, it is claimed.

Editors of The Good Pub Guide 2009 have received a record number of complaints from readers about visits to their local watering hole being spoilt by badly behaved children.

Feedback from guide readers revealed unchecked children were increasingly disturbing the experiences of pub-goers across the UK.

Joint editor Alasdair Aird said: "This year more readers than ever before have complained to us about pub visits being spoilt for them by badly behaved children running around unchecked.
