FLUTE » For what it's worth, New York Magazine's Adam Platt listed the city's "Top 100" restaurants in the city and included Franny's (for the pizza, which he says is amazing) in the list. It was towards the end of the list ... but it was there nonethless. I've not been there ... so I can't really have an opinion on that. (Franny's IS in Park Slope, right ??) ....No - sorry! Franny's is Prospect Heights. Flatbush is the border. If it were on the other side of Flatbush, it would be in Park Slope. (Let the flaming begin).

Joe's on 5th Ave btw 12/13 (or maybe it's 11/12)....the regular beats the Sicilian, and has a great thin crust. Not too sweet (like the scary Princess Pizza on 5th and 14th). -

yea. joe's! it's a blue collar unassuming slice a slab of sauce and chewy cheese on a toasted thin'ish crust the cheese at joe's is ok, but there is one pizza cheese i've had that is orgasmic last time i had it -- was in a bronx pizzeria in the 70's it makes me cry just to reminisce about this cheese this cheese was white and saffron, with olive oil swimming in these tiny rivers. you could make 3 foot long strings of cheese and then have it snap and smack you in the eye when it broke you just wanna spoon with this cheese and it smelled. so good i am crying now...I know that there are people who do not love their fellow man, and I hate people like that! -- Tom Lehrer (1928 - ) -
My old standby was Pinos La Forchetta, then I got hooked into Joes because they stay open past last call. Along the way a few other places were tried, Lennys, La Villa, Franny's, Tomato and Basil. In the end, I've come back to Pinos - large tasty pies, fast car-based delivery, and good value.----------------------
