As Bloomberg was once noted for saying (after coin-op, self-cleaning public toilets were shot down): There are Starbucks everywhere. Those are all the public toilets anyone needs. (or something like that)i extend my battery life by turning down the brightness

Garth.. Good list.. some of those choices are not really "public".. Unlikely I would go in to J Mack's to pee unless I was going in, ordered the beer and then went to restroom. I am pretty sure that Mc Donalds is a place where you have to "ask" for a key.. so in emergency not the best choice..lol!

It's funny you say that, just earlier this week I was sitting in bar area at Mack's eating dinner and I saw two people just come in off the street and use the bathrooms and leave. No one said a thing to them.Starting a list of users names who are actually the same person: west1440, DownwardPuppy, TruthandBeauty, Stretchy, RupaulRox, NarcolepticAbe, QuantumSilence, SoldierSantana, SouljaJuan, TrendPotter, THREEKxdz, HomeEida

In an emergency thats cool.. heck i always ask before i go into a bathroom in someones restaurant or bar and i appreciate when they say yes.. Usually i tip them for the convenience -

Well then J Mack's qualifies as "public" if they have such an open door policy. ...that is just fine! Hey we are just talking about toilets here.... use the toilet once because you are desperate and come back for a burger and 3 beers with your buddies. ! That sounds like good business to me. -
I don’t care if it’s labeled “Officially Public” or not, nor do I mind asking an employee for permission (or a key). All I’m asking for is more places I can go where I don’t have to pay. And I’m surprised Starbucks is the only place anyone’s been able to add to the list. Thanks though (I don’t know how I managed to forget that one).

The grocery store (Associated?) on 5th Ave at Union has a key bathroom. Just ask a checker for the key and it's straight back from there. J.J. Byrne Park. The Old Stone House has bathrooms open during the day (don't know exact hours). Doors are on the outside, southern end. If you're near Atlantic terminal there's Target and DSW. Since I live here, I'm pretty much covered between the park bathrooms, home, and B&N.
