Went last night and we were disappointed. Smaller servings and higher prices which would not be an issue---except the food just did not taste as good. We had aspargus with chicken and it tasted bland and the aspargus seemed old. Soup was average, not the greatest. Presentation was not as nice as previously. Serving plates did not have the pretty cut vegeable garnish. Only familiar face seemed to be the delivery guy.

I thought the food tasted a bit bland as well, certainly not as good as it used to be. On the other hand, we've seen this many times before, a restaurant opens and goes through growing pains - hopefully this too will pass.

The delivery quantities were the same, and the food we got was equal to before. Hope they stick around!

I just came back from lunch there, and the taste was considerably better, so maybe they're reading this blog....

Hunan Delight is great, but it's on Union Street and 6th Avenue, so we need a decent Chinese option at the other end of the neighborhood, near 9th Street. Whatever you do, do not mix up your Delights. I ordered a take-out dinner from Schezuan Delight. It was obvious Schezuan's cooks "made" my dinner with the left-over $5 lunch special; my shrimp in chilli sauce arrived immediately after I hung up the phone with Schezuan's staff and the supposedly fresh sea food/chilli sauce dish contained brown mystery meat and some broccoli that were coated with garlic sauce. It seemed like Schezuan mixed some beef and broccoli in garlic sauce with my sea food dish. Hunan Delight, on the other hand, will make a meal for you "out of scratch." However, Hunan's prices have gone up too
so I don't order as frequently.I blame such comments on beer.

My partner and I ordered from RHII last night for the first time since it reopened. We always loved the original iteration and were excited to see it coming back. I had my usual, the Hunan chicken, which seemed pretty much the same as it always was. However, my partner, who's vegan, ordered the vegetarian General Tso's, and we got real-chicken General Tso's. He called the restaurant and had to explain repeatedly that (a) he didn't get what he ordered, (b) that he'd ordered the vegetarian version, and (c) he can't eat chicken because he's vegan. Finally they said they'd check into it, and they called back a few minutes later and offered to credit us toward a future order. Except, as he explained, that would leave him without dinner. So, after more back and forth, they finally agreed to send a replacement. We'll prolly keep ordering, since it's good and convenient, but I hope this is a growing-pains type of issue. To have ambition was my ambition -- Gof4

Hope it is just growing pains. We had the greasiest spring rolls ever, and my broccoli with garlic sauce was swimming in a layer of oil with undissolved gelatinous chunks of garlic sauce on the bottom. On the plus side, the cold noodles with sesame sauce are now made with thin rice noodles like pad thai, an interesting change from the usual linguine-style noodles. Loved the old RH; will give the reincarnation one more go if they lay off the oil.
