Hi. I saw a cat this morning around 12 noon at 2nd street and 6th ave. in park slope and i am not sure if there had been 'missing' signs for this cat. he or she is all black with a white nose area. he or she (i couldn't get close enough to tell) came from 2nd street between 6th and 7th and then when i came near her/him, he/she crossed over to the other side of 6th avenue. i know there was a sign up for a cat lost from the backyards behind 2nd street between 5th and 6th avenues awhile back (the people lived on 5th avenue). I do not know if this is that cat or if that cat was found. I also think i saw a cat lost poster for a cat by union street. When I saw the cat, I was on my way to an appt. in Manhattan and did not want to scare the cat further so i brought him or her some dry cat food which he/she ate right away. i do not think the cat is a stray although i am not sure. he/she was delighted by the birds and pretty spunky. he/she was definitely scared of me and stayed away but did come right away to eat the food - so could be a stray or a lost cat -- although the 'strays' are not usually out during the day but i have seen black cats around ps 321. (does someone look out for those cats, does anyone know??) the cat was on the corner of 2nd street and 6th avenue on the side of 6th avenue going towards 5th avenue, across from the church. Last seen behind the gate of that house on the corner. I think it's the east side? i did a quick search on petfinder and did not see the cat listed. If anyone knows if there is a place to search for cats in park slope or brooklyn, pls let me know. Or if you may know of this cat or another list serve to post this sighting! Or if you are near this location and can go check for him or her. Thank you. Sorry I could not help further. I can go in a few hours and check again. cat
